Destiny's POVI woke up and looked over at the alarm clock on my bedside table.
6:30.
I sighed. Last night had been rough. I had another nightmare, I woke up to Rose screaming, and after that I could hardly sleep. I just kept thinking about my nightmare and how weird it was that Rose had a nightmare at the exact time as me.
I wonder if they are connected.
I shrugged off the idea.
No that's impossible.
I decided to get out of bed. I put on the clothes that I was going to wear to school and got my things together for school. I ran into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and fixed my hair into a braid. I ran back to my room, grabbed my backpack, opened my bedroom door, and headed for the kitchen. I saw my mother, my father, and Rose, sitting at the kitchen table. Well here goes another silent breakfast.
-
After another extremely awkward breakfast, I grabbed my backpack and headed outside. Even though it was only 6:50, and the bus comes at around 7:10 or 7:20, I like to come out here early.
I looked across the street to see Josh standing on his front porch trying to gather the notebooks and pens that he was dropping. Once he finally got everything into his backpack, he put it on his back and looked up, seeing me. I waved at him; he waved back, and started jogging toward me. He finally reached where I was.
"Hey," he greeted.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing much. Just waiting for the bus."
"Oh," I said, no enthusiasm apparent.
"What's wrong?" Josh asked.
"Nothings wrong," I simply replied. But he just shook his head.
"No, I can tell there's something wrong. Now what is it?" he asked. I opened my mouth to disagree, but when I saw that he wasn't backing down from that question, I closed my mouth and sighed.
"I can't tell you," I simply replied. He looked frustrated, which was kind of funny.
"Really. Is it one of those 'girly secrets?' It can't be that bad," he said.
Can't be that bad? Yah right. He has no idea.
"You have no idea," I mumbled. "Look, even if I told you, you wouldn't understand," I said.
"I've heard a lot of stuff, I think I would understand."
Okay now this is getting kind of aggravating.
"Okay, look, you couldn't even imagine how big of this secret is and how it's effected me. Only four people know it, and I may or may not tell you. I don't know yet," I said a little harshly. He put his hands up in front of him defensively and took a step back.
"Okay, okay, geez. Chill. I'm not forcing you to do anything you don't want to," he said.
"Sorry, it's just," I sighed, "you wouldn't understand."
"Whatever."
We talked for a few more minutes before the bus finally arrived. We got on and headed to the back seat. When we got there, I saw Denise, already there like always.
"Hey," she greeted.
"Hi."
"Hi," Josh said to Denise.
