What Just Happened?

Denise's POV

He turned my head toward him and locked my eyes with his. I couldn't believe what happened next. He placed his lips on mine. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I think I'm going to pass out. Is this really happening? Yeah, I think I'm going to pass out. I started blushing even more. He pulled away from me and smiled. I smiled back trying to not make the situation more awkward than it already was. So still holding his hand I leaned my head on his shoulder again.

The movie finally ended and we got out of our seats and headed to his car. We talked all the way to the apartment. When we got there, he got out of the car and rushed over to my side to open the door. I smiled at him and we walked up to the door. We hugged and then he placed his lips on mine again. Just then, Destiny walked outside and stared at us. We pulled away and stared at her, embarrassed. She just stood there for a few seconds before throwing her hands in the air walking back inside.

"Oh come on! I will never find anyone!" she yelled back at us. We both laughed.

"Oh, don't worry! You'll find someone!" I yelled to her. We hugged again.

"I guess I'll see you later," Josh said.

"Bye," I yelled after him as he started walking towards his car. I walked inside, to see Destiny sitting on the couch, staring at me and grinning like an idiot.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothin'" she said.

"Okay," I shrugged, "let's go get the rest of you things from your parents," I suggested. She got up off the couch and headed towards the door.

Destiny's POV

Denise and me walked outside. I hopped into her car. After locking the door to the apartment, Denise walked over to the car and got in. She started the car and back out of the driveway. After a few minutes of driving down the road, we arrived at my parent's house.

I got out of the car and ran inside. I saw that my parents weren't there, so I ran to Rose's room. I opened the door and saw her lying on her bed typing something on her phone.

"Hey," I said. She turned her head to look at me and smiled.

"Oh, hey, Des. Mom and dad went to get something for diner but I stayed here," she said as she continued to type on her phone.

"Okay, who are you texting?" I asked, having a pretty good idea. She smiled.

"Jonas," she said shyly. I knew it.

"Okay, well I'm going to get the rest of the stuff from my room and then I guess I'll be at the apartment," I said. She nodded and then I stepped out of her room and closed my door. I walked to my room and started gathering the boxes and bags that I had in my room. I walked through the house, carrying various tote bags and packages, making several trips. I finally grabbed the last box from my room and walked into Rose's room.

"Hey I'm leaving," I said.

"Okay, bye, I'll see you tomorrow," she said. I turned to leave, but then an enormous force hit me, almost making me fall over. I looked behind me to see Rose clinging on to me. An emotional wave of thought that some people still care washed over me. I turned around and hugged her. I laughed.

"I forgot how strong you were," I said.

"I'm going to miss you Destiny, no matter what happens I'll always be here for you," she said. I felt tears stinging my eyes.

"I'm going to miss you too Roseanna," I said. We pulled out of the hug and I quickly wiped my eyes not wanting her to see but dark blue tears are kind of hard to hide. I turned around and left her, room carrying the last box from the room I had spent the majority of my life in. I took a look in that room one more time.

The white bead, stripped of the blankets, the bare walls, the clean floor, everything was just...gone. I walked out of the hallway and out of the house. I walked toward Denise's car, carrying the last thing that I had from the place that I had spent the last 17 years of my life. I packed the box in the trunk and got in her car. We backed out of the driveway and started down the road towards out apartment.
