Destiny's POV

School had gone normally again after lunch. We went through all of our classes and we took more things home for the end of the year. It was finally the end of the day and all of the kids started piling into the bus as always. Denise, Josh, and I went to our usual spot, and as usual, Josh and Denise talked the whole way to Denise's stop. She got up, and after saying bye to us, got off the bus and ran inside. Josh and I talked for a few minutes before it was finally our stop. We stood up and got off the bus. I waved bye to Josh and ran inside. I got the things that I needed for practice and ran outside, getting my bike. I got on and started pedaling toward school.

After a few minutes of pedaling I finally reached the school.

Well here we go again. Wow. I need to get a new saying.

After lots of drills and exercises, volleyball was finally over. I ran out of the gym, got on my bike and started pedaling away.

After a few minutes of pedaling, I finally reached the apartment. I pulled up my bike to the sidewalk, when I heard my phone ringing. I took out my phone and answered the call.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey, is this Destiny?" a guy asked on the other end.

I think its Josh.

"Yeah, is this Josh?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said.

"Okay. Let me guess, Denise didn't answer?" I asked. I heard him laugh on the other end.

"Yeah," Josh said. I laughed a little.

"Okay, call my phone back in like five minutes. I'm just walking into the apartment," I said.

"Okay, bye," Josh said.

"Bye," I said before hanging up. I walked up to the front porch and used my extra key to unlock the door. I walked in.

"Hey Denise! I'm here!" I yelled. I heard something from the bedroom and then footsteps coming toward me.

"Hey! Sorry I was putting more stuff in the bedroom. So are you ready to get more stuff from your parents?" she asked. I hesitated before answering.

"Uh, can we stay here for a few minutes? I want to change and do some other things," I said.

"Okay. Yeah, sure," she said. I rushed to the bathroom to change. I quickly changed and looked at what time it was.

He is going to call any minute.

Just a few seconds after I thought that, my phone rang. I looked at the number, and sure enough, it was the number that Josh had called me from earlier. I slid my finger across the screen, unlocking my phone and answering the call. I put my phone up to my ear.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey, Denise is there, right?" he asked.

"Yeah, hold on," I said. I walked into the living room, where Denise was sitting on the couch, watching TV.

"Hey, Denise, someone wants to talk to you," I said. She looked at me with a confused expression, but muted the TV and took my phone that I handed to her. She walked out of the room, but because of my hearing, I listened to their conversation.

"Hello?" Denise said.

"Hey, is this Denise?" Josh asked.

"Yeah, this is her," she said, confused.

"Oh ok. Hey, this is Josh," he said.

"Oh, hey," she said.

"Yeah, so I was wondering, uh, if you wanted to go see a movie," he said.

"Uhm, like a date?" she asked.

"Uh, yeah, I guess," Josh said hesitating. She paused before answering.

"Yeah, uh, sure. You probably need to know where I am," Denise said making Josh laugh a little.

"Yeah, I guess so," he said. She told him the address to the apartment. "Okay, so I guess I'll be there in like thirty minutes?" he asked.

"Uh, yeah, okay. I'll see you soon," Denise said.

"Okay, bye," Josh said.

"Bye," Denise hung up. I heard footsteps coming, so I tried to act normal and clueless by sitting on the couch pretending that I didn't listen in on their conversation. She walked into where I was sitting with a shocked but happy expression on her face.

"What?" I asked trying to hide my smile and the fact that I had been a huge part in this whole thing.
