'Oh S-', I begin to think to Alex but realise that if my father tries, he can hear us too.
'Alpha is here', Alex responds. 'We should go greet him.''I guess so...' I don't even try to argue, because if I could smell father, he would have been able to smell me for a long time. That's probably why they were early.
'Transform', Alex tells me and I shake my head at him, my ears perked, waiting to hear father. After a few more seconds, I hear the running of several wolves.
'We really should, Vi.' I don't respond, as I see 4 wolves come out of the bushes. The largest one, a pure white wolf, I can tell is my father.
'Violet.' My fur stands up in surprise as my father's voice booms through my head.
'Yes, Alpha?' I know not to refer to him in any familiar nature when we are in wolf form.'Transform. Also, why are you running off with other wolves?' My father doesn't even recognise Alex's scent, he's that angry with me.
I transform, whether I want to or not, an Alpha's command is an Alpha's command. Even to his Luna, an Alpha apparently has complete control. I hate that.
My father transforms, and then does Alex.
"Alexander" My father greets Alex with a nod.
"Alpha John."
"You can't leave home without a note, Violet. You know that it's a bad idea." He frowns at me, "Not after what happened to your mother."
I stay silent, as does everyone, for a few seconds of remembrance.
"Violet, I would say that I would ground you, but as it's almost your 17th birthday, I won't. Just know that I will have someone following you until that day."
I groan, but I don't complain, I understand why he would worry.
"Good job, like always, Alexander. At least with you around I know that she'll stay out of trouble." My father, like always, praises Alex to the point where you'd think they were mates.
At least, it is obvious that father hopes that Alex is my mate. I don't think he will be, however. Alex and I have always been like brother and sister. Plus, Alex is definitely not a dominant enough wolf to be Alpha, no matter what my father thinks.
"Go home immediately, Violet. I will have someone sent to you soon so that they will watch over you."
I inwardly laugh, as I know that most Omegas would never be able to keep up with me. Unless father tied them to me, but somehow I doubt he would do that.
Alex goes to shift, bringing his wrist up to his mouth, but father interrupts him, "No, Alexander, stay back for a minute."
I bring my own wrist up to my teeth, and my fangs sharpen. I bite into the vein, only feeling a slight sting, used to it after all these years. When I'm excited, I don't even notice doing it.
I feel sudden warmth, and I know that I am a wolf now. I scamper home obediently, like I was told to. Although father didn't use an Alpha command, I still obey, my instincts telling me to listen. And I don't want to be in more trouble, anyway.
I really hope he doesn't make Brentley follow me around. Brentley is around 20 years old, and he creeps me out. I swear he hasn't showered in years. He used to work on the farm, but Dad had seen him do something well or something so he got him to be my 'bodyguard', so to let Brentley have some practice by following me around. That certainly isn't a pleasant memory.
