Chapter 3: Break the silence

Authors note: hello. If there is two of the same chapter, just ignore it. Dunno what's going on with my phone but i see two chapter 2's.. If that even makes sense. Lol anyway enjoy this chapter.

**Lapis's POV**

"oh my gosh! You just snort! That was so cute!"
That was all i heard Peridot say before everything became inaudible. Thoughts were running through my head in circles.
Did she just call my snort cute??
Did she mean it?
Is she messing with me?
I couldn't think straight.
The next thing i remember was Peridot dragging me out of the restaurant to her car. I got into her car the same time she did. The drive to our dorm was just silent. There was a barrier of silence bewteen us. I wanted to say something, but i couldn't bring myself to say a word. It was a 10 minute drive, but it felt like an eternity. When we got back to our dorm, she went straight to her desk. We said nothing to each other for hours. We couldn't even look at each other without blushing madly. The whole time I was looking at tumblr posts, trying to get my mind off the situation, which worked but only for a bit. After hours of looking at tumblr, i decided to break the silence.
"you really think it was cute?" i asked in a shaky voice.
"w-what?"
"d-do you really think my snort was cute?"
"..."
She stood there in silence for 5 minutes. She cleared her throat.
"er... Yes. I thought it was cute."
I didn't know what to say. I wanted to believe she was lying, but she sounded genuine. I had mixed emotions about it. No one ever called something about me cute and meant it.
"well.. Thanks. Alot."
"no prob, bob."
"its Lapis."
She chuckled.
She came into the rooms with paper and pencil.
"draw something."
"pardon?"
"draw something."
I was a bit confused. It was very random. I guess she wanted to change the subject. I took the paper and pencil and began drawing a girl with triangle shaped hair, with visors, and a triangular shaped peridot on her forehead. I finished the drawing and gave it to Peridot. She had stars in her eyes.
"woah! Lapis this is really good!"
I shrugged.
"thanks i guess."
"what's this character?"
"its you as an alien. I know you like aliens, and your name is Peridot, so i put those together into this character."
"you have quite the imagination."
"i know."
There was a moment of silence before Peridot asked me something.
"can i keep this?"
"you want it?"
She nodded.
"sure. Its yours."
"thanks."
"no problem."
She continued to examine my drawing for a while.
"i could never draw this good."
I looked at her.
"sure you can! You just have to practice. If you want i can teach you."
"you'd do that?"
"of course."
She smiled and i smiled back. I got up and went to her desk, and she followed. I grabbed two pieces of paper, one for her, and one for me. She sat down and i sat next to her. I started off with teaching her the most basic things, like how to use guidelines, and shading. Then as the hours passed, we started getting into more complex things such as hands, eyes, and basically the whole human body. We completely lost track of time and when we stopped it was around 1 am. Peridot had learned so much, so fast.
"you're a quick learner you kn-"
I saw her fast asleep. I thought it was cute so i just stared at her for a minute or two. Though i couldn't be mean and leave her to sleep on the desk. I blushed at the thought of carrying her to her bed. But i had to if i didn't want to be cruel and wake her up. Took me a while, but i managed to muster up the courage and pick her up. I brought her to her bed and layed her down.
Calm down Lapis, calm down.
I was blushing madly. She was snoring softly and it was one of the cutest things ever. I was squealing internally.
Lapis, you're so gay.
I chuckled to myself. I heard Peridot mumble something.
"mm... Lapis..."
I look at her in shock and listened carefully to her words.
"...I... L.....ike.......ou.."
I felt heat creep up to my cheeks.
She didn't say what i thought she just said.. Right? No... Im probably just imagining things. I need sleep.
I brushed it off and went to my bed. There was a problem. I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned for hours. I checked my phone and the time said '7:56 am'
I decided since it was bright enough outside, i'd go for a walk. I got out of bed and changed into a red flannel, shorts, and my blue velcro shoes. I walked out the dorm and headed towards the exit. I got outside and savored the early morning breeze. As i was walking around campus, i heard a familiar voice. It was quite deep, and it didn't sound too far away. I walked towards the source of the voice and it lead to a dark alley. I peeked my head around the corner and I saw her. A tall, masculine woman, with long white flowing silky hair, with weird birth marks on both arms.
