"i won't let that happen" is what i said before dragging Lapis to a secret spot of mine. We were still in our non-presentable clothes, so we hurried to get off campus. She had already seen my eyes change color, and she didn't believe me when I told her she was imagining things. I had never told anyone in my life about my secret.. Lapis was gonna be the first. As we were leaving campus, I kept an eye out for Jasper. Im pretty sure Lapis did the same. The spot I was taking Lapis to was pretty far from where we were at. It took around 15 to 20 minutes of walking to get there. "peridot we have been walking for 20 minutes, where are we going?!" "its not far now. Just wait." She sighed and kept walking beside me. We were in the middle of the woods, and Lapis looked worried. She probably thought we were lost. "we're here." i said as we stepped into an open area of grass, surrounded by trees. Lapis gave a quiet 'woah' I stepped across from Lapis and looked her in the eyes. "Lapis. I have never told a soul about this. You're the first." She looked confused. "wha..Huh?" I took my glasses off and closed my eyes for a moment, and opened again to reveal yellow eyes.
**Lapis's POV**
She had piercing yellow eyes that i could stare into forever. "close your eyes." she said with no emotion. I did just that. I closed my eyes. I opened them after a few seconds. "keep them shut." she insisted. I closed them again. A minute had passed, and I felt and heard nothing. "im gonna open them. Okay?" I opened my eyes once more to see Peridot's hand getting a little bigger, and then turning into paws.
(alot of this chapter is gonna be a reference to the movie Wolf Children just in case anyone read's this and comments things like "you copied wolf children!" and stupid stuff like that.)
She was also growing a snout. Her human ears turned into the ears of a wolf. Her blond hair soon grew throuout her body. She got on her knees and now had the legs of an animal. After minutes of transformation, she was a huge, blonde colored wolf as big as me.

I couldn't help but noticed her wolf form looked unusually familiar. Though, i couldn't put my finger on it. The rest of our time in those woods was Peridot telling me stories. She told me how her parents died when she was young, and how she moved here to get away from her human siblings, because of the risk if them finding out. But something was bothering me the entire time. I couldn't figure out how she looked familiar. I thought really hard on it. I zoned out while thinking. Lapis. Lapis! LAPIS!! I snapped out of my trance. "huh??" "I have been saying your name for 5 minutes!" "oh... Sorry." "its okay. By the way, you might wanna go behind a tree." "why?" "when i transform back to a human, im naked." I blushed. "oh.. Um.. Okay." I went behind a tree. I waited a few minutes. "Peri, can I come out now?" "no." Another minute passed. "okay you can come out now." I came out from behind the tree and Peridot was fully clothed. I sat next to her and thought again. Then memories flooded into my brain.
Flash when Lapis was 9 years old
"mama! Daddy!" I screamed. I was all alone in the woods. Mom and dad were nowhere to be seen. First I was at the park, and now im here. In the middle of the forest. I was screaming for my parents for so long that my throat began to hurt until i could no longer peep out a word without my throat screaming in pain. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see a big, blonde wolf. "hi! Are you lost?" the wolf said. "you can talk?" The wolf nodded. "uh. Yea im lost. Can you help me find my parents?" "well of course I can! Follow me." I followed the wolf back to the park. I saw my parents calling my name. "mama! Daddy! Over here!" i yelled. They looked over and had shocked faces. "Lapis! Get away from that wolf!" my mom exclaimed. "this wolf helped me-" My dad interrupted me by shooting the nice wolf with a big gun. The bullet brushed against the wolf's head and it ran away. My parents came and brought me to our car and we drove away.
End of flashback
I felt tears creeping up. I held them back as I looked at Peridot. "uhm.. Peridot. Do you remember helping a child find their parents years ago?" She looked at me confused. "you... Were you that kid??" she questioned. I nodded. "thats why your wolf form felt familiar to me." I stated. We stayed silent for moments after that. "lets go back to the dorm. Its getting late." i spoke. Peri nodded, and we started walking back to the dorm. I thought for sure we were gonna get lost but Peri got us out of there. -time skip 20 minutes later- We were approaching the building, and I was keeping an eye out for Jasper. Fortunately, we got to our dorm safely. It was only 7 pm, but I was exhausted. I plopped down onto my bed. I signed and closed my eyes. Within minutes, I was fast asleep.
