Chapter 8: does this mean we're..

**Lapis's POV**
"ugh! You're so stubborn!" I excalimed. I looked at her for a moment, before connecting our lips. She stiffined at first, but after a few seconds she kissed back. It was a bit sloppy, but it was loving, and passionate. Her hand slipped onto mine. The warmness of her fingers interwining with mine made me relax. After about 30 seconds, we pulled away for air.
"w-woah.." she murmured.
"you're not too bad of a kisser.." I admitted. She blushed, and I couldn't help but think that it was adorable.
"you're not bad yourself.." She replied. I chuckled quietly. I looked into her deep green eyes and I zoned out. They were so easy to get lost into. I heard my name being called.
"Earth to Lapis??" Peri waved a hand in front of my face.
"huh?"
"you were starring at me."
"oh.. Heh.. I.. I guess its your eyes. They're easy to get lost into."
Peridot snickered.
"what's so funny?" I asked.
"need a map?" she laughed a bit. It took me a second, but I got the joke and started laughing with Peri. After our little fit of laughter, we just sat there for a while. As silence filled the room, I realized I was craving another kiss. I mentally punched myself in the face.
Stop that, Lapis. Resist. The urge....Aww screw it.
I pulled Peri in for another kiss. She didn't seem to mind, and kissed back. I pulled away and metally punched myself in the face harder.
wooooowww Lapis.
It was silent for another few moments.
"so.. Does this mean we're... girlfriend's..?"she spoke.
"I just kissed you twice."
"so thats a yes?"
"yes, you goober."
She giggled.
"should we tell the others?" I asked.
"yeah, I think we should. We need to be careful though, if Jasper finds out, she is gonna kill us..- I mean when she wakes up.."
I nodded in agreement and pulled her close.
Peridot nuzzled her face into the crook of my neck, which made me blush a bit.
She sighed happily.
"Lapis.. I love you."
I blushed, but those 4 words warmed my heart, and I smiled.
"I love you more." I replied. She lifted her head up and looked at me.
"nuh uh, I love YOU more."
We both smirked at each other, thinking the exact same thing. We began our unnecessary argument over who loves who most.
-7 minutes later-
"I would go to the moon and back for you!"
Peridot dramatically swooned and I laughed.
"I love you even more than that!"
"oh yeah? Prove it!" she challenged me.
"its simply ineffable to express how much I love you." I shrugged.
"grr! This is taking too long so I give up. You win, you clod." she said, crossing her arms cutely.
"Your clod." I remarked.
She looked at me and I could tell she wanted to hit me. I winked at her and her face flushed with redness. I was kind of confused as to why she was blushing, then I realized why.
"not that kind of wink!" I exclaimed, face palming. We starred at each other for a few seconds before Peridot smirked at me with half lidded eyes. I felt shivers go up my spine, and my face was burning up from blushing so hard. Peri snickered and laughed. I crossed my arms and looked away, flushed and embarrassed.
Dammit.. She got me back. She's lucky she's cute. I thought.

**Peridot's POV**
Okay.. Maybe I made it awkward, but I can fix that. I just need to get Lapis to cuddle with me.. But how..? I thought for a second.
"hey Lapis, there's a spider on the wall over there." I pointed to her left.
"ah! Where on the wall?? Imma kill it!" she turned her body towards where I pointed with an alerted face. I took this chance to hug her from behind and flop backwards with Lapis on top of me.
"Eep! Peridot, what are you doing??"
"I want to cuddle."
She was silent, then she snickered.
"you could have just asked me instead of attack me. And I need to kill that spider." she said, trying to pull away from my grasp.
"there is no spider. I just said that so you'd turn and I could get you."
She struggled to get free.
"Peridot, let me go."
"no."
"please?"
"no."
"pweeeez?"
"no! I want to cuddle."
"can you at least let me lay beside you instead of on top of you? Im crushing you."
I groaned and let her move over, though I was still kind of clinged to her. She put her arms around me and nuzzled into my neck. We stayed like this for a while, and it was amazing. Her breathing on my neck, the warmth radiating off her body onto mine, her soft hair tickling under my chin, it was the best thing ever.
She moved her hand up to my head and began petting me. I couldn't help but purr.
"peridot?"
"hm?"
"are you purring?"
"..Maybe."
"it makes you look adorable."
"Im not adorable."
"okay then you're cute."
"im not cute!"
"then you're hot."
"lapis, im none of those things."
"then you're...." she thought for a second.
"hah! Cant think of any more can y-"
"you're sexy."
I blushed madly.
"LAPIS."
She snorted.
"im just teasing you. But you are cute."
I didn't want to argue any longer over this dumb subject, so I just groaned and purred. We stayed like this for a while until she decided to get up.
How DARE she get up?? I was so comfy! I thought.
"Lapiiiisss come back!" I whined.
"im hungry!" she replied from the kitchen.
"but I was so comfy!"
"I cant help being hungry, Peri."
I crossed my arms and waited patiently. After around five minutes, I heard footsteps behind me coming closer. I felt arms hug me from behind, and the familiar warmth and touch made me smile.
"happy now?" she asked me.
"yes."
She giggled. I felt my eyes getting heavy, and I closed them. She pulled blankets over us as I fell asleep in Lapis's arms.
