Chapter 7: confession

**Lapis's POV**

I woke up, the sunlight from the window hitting my face, I hissed and pulled the covers over my head. I stuck a hand out and grabbed my phone off my dresser. I turned it on and the brightness pricked at my eyes. I groaned, struggling to turn down the brightness on my phone.
"stupid thing.." I mumbled to myself.
The time read 2:37 pm.
I slept in pretty late.
No shit sherlock I thought.
"i see you're awake." Peridot said, sipping her coffee.
I groaned a "mhm" before going back to whatever I was doing. I heard footsteps come closer to my bed. I didn't really acknowledge it until my blankets were pulled off me. I was met with the coldness of the air.
"agh! Peridot you dork!"
"its 2 pm Lapis. Time to get up!" she giggled.
"but I like hibernating." I yapped.
"we can go get food if you get up."
I was already at the door the second she said food.
"that was fast." she joked.
"lets go get food now." I chirped.
She walked towards the door, grabbing her wallet.

-time skip cuz im lazy-

Peridot was acting.. Odd. This morning she was perfectly normal but now she was being weird. I was quite curious, and I decided to ask what was up.
"hey, Peridot-"
"im gonna go over to Amethyst's dorm. Cya in a bit." she interrupted me. She rushed out the door. I was confused. It almost seemed as if she was avoiding me. I shook the thought off, and decided to watch Camp Pining Hearts to pass the time.

**Peridot's POV**

I rushed out the door. I didn't know how I was gonna tell Lapis that I liked her. Amethyst was the first person I could think of to help me. I knew she was gonna tease me about it for the rest of my life, but she was my only hope. Her dorm was pretty close, so it didn't take me long to get there. Before I knew it, i was in front of her door. I took a deep breath, and exhaled sharply. With slight hesitation, I knocked on her door.
She opened it.
"Sup, Dot."
"i need help."
"with what?"
"w-with... Telling a certain person I like them."
A wide grin spread across her face.
"SO YOU DO LIKE LAPI-" I put my hands over her mouth.
"SHUSH IT, YOU CLOD." i whisper-shouted.
She snickered.
"alright, ill help ya."
Thank god..-
"on one condition.."
God dammit.
I sighed.
"what is it..?"
"you have to do my math homework for two weeks."
It didn't seem too bad. A bit more homework everyday wasn't gonna kill me.
"fine." I spoke.
"great! Come on in." Amethyst said, opening the door wider and stepping aside.
Her dorm was actually quite clean to my surprise. Then Pearl came out from the kitchen.
"hey Peridot!" she chirped.
"hey."
I sat down on their couch and Amethyst sat down beside me.
"okay, so to tell her you like her. Hmm.... Do something nice for her. Like take her to a fancy restaurant or something?"
"Amethyst, that's literally a date."
"not really. Just taking your friend out to eat isn't a big deal."
"it doesn't help that I like her."
"okay then.. Do something with her. Ooh! Like watch a sunset together!"
"thats so cheesy, Amethyst."
"its just an idea."
I thought for a moment. A lightbulb was lit above my head.
"i gotta go. Cya later." I waved.
I stepped out the door and started walking back to our dorm. I turned to another hall where our dorm was, and I saw Jasper banging at our door.
"Open up!!" she screamed.
She didn't see me so I ran up and drop kicked her before she would try to bash the door down. She fell over, letting out a big "ow!" before she hit the ground.
"ugh, you runt!" she cursed.
"what the hell do you want Jasper?? Leave us alone!"
She snarled, and reached for something in her pocket. It was the pocket knife I stabbed her arm with. She wasn't gonna try and kill me, was she??
"this look familiar?" she smirked.
I didn't reply. I just glared at her, preparing for what was to come.
She took the knife, and banged it against the doorknob. It only took a few seconds until the doorknob broke. She opened the door quickly and stepped in, while I was on the verge of turning into an animal. Instead, I let claws grow out and I stepped behind her then jabbed her in the back with them. She jumped and turned to me. I couldn't remember what happened after that. The next thing I saw was Jasper's unconscious body laying in the middle of the hallway, with cuts and bruises.
"wha.... Huh?"
I looked at my surrounding and the walls were scratched up a bit, but that was it. Lapis was at the door, holding a baseball bat.
"wait.. What happened??" I questioned Lapis.
"you went burserk. However, you didn't turn into a wolf. She was about to attack you with that pocket knife but I hit her in the head with this bat, before she could do anything to hurt you." she explained.
I looked at her blankly, then at Jasper.
"how are we going to get her to her dorm? We cant just leave her here, or we're dead meat."
Lapis shrugged.
"her dorm isn't too far. Just a few hallways away. Maybe you could carry her with your animal form?" she suggested.
"Lapis, you know I cant do that."
"and we cant lift 500 pounds of muscle by ourselves."
"...Touché."
I looked around all the hallways to see if anyone could be seen. No one were in the hallways, so I went into our dorm and began turning. When I finished, Lapis made sure there was no one around again as I put Jasper on my back.
Damn. She's heavy even for my wolf form. I thought.
We walked out and headed to her dorm, and I started thinking. What if she has a roommate? I decided to ask Lapis.
"hey, does she have roommate?"
"no. She doesn't. Teachers dont put her with anybody considering her temper, and how dangerous she is."
I sighed of relief. It took about 5 minutes to get to the dorm. Lapis lock-picked the door open and stepped aside. I walked in and plopped Jasper down on her bed.
Job well done I spoke to myself.
"Peridot, hurry up!" Lapis whisper-shouted.
"coming!" I replied.
We quickly walked back to the dorm, and I changed back to a human.- Hiding in the bathroom of course.
I came out and Lapis was sitting on her bed, playing on her phone like nothing happened.
I walked over, and sat next to her.
"hey Lapis.."
"yea, Peri?"
"could you possibly help me with telling a certain person I like them?"
"im not am expert, but sure." she joked.
"who are they
?"
Perfect
"oh.. Well she's about an inch taller than me. Likes alot of emo bands. LOVES the color blue. Heh.. Her hair is all dyed blue. She has the name of a gemstone that starts with 'L'. She's an amazing artist, and she loves Camp Pining Hearts like I do."
She looked at me puzzled, but I could tell she knew I was reffering to her, due to how flushed her face was.
"erm.. Uh...." was all she said. She looked away, still flushed.
"i guess you know who im talking about..?" I asked. She just looked at me blankly.
"...Ugh! You're so stubborn!"
A moment later, a pair of lips crashed onto mine.
They belonged to Lapis.
