Chapter 13: lets run away

**Peridot's POV**

"are you Peridot Greene?" one of the men asked blankly. He had a very low, groany voice.
"y-yes sir.." I whimpered.
"ma'am, we need to take you in for tests."

Lapis looked at them worriedly, and furiously.
"what kind of tests??" she asked.
"tests that citizens like you wouldn't understand. Now, let us finish our buisness."
"you're not finishing anything. She doesn't need to take your stupid tests..." she sounded more protective.
The man then pulled out hus gun and pointed it at Lapis's head.

I was about to say something, but Lapis put her hand over my mouth.
"what are you gonna do with that? Eh?" she smirked.
"if you dont move out of the way, ill put a bullet in your head and watch your tiny brain drain out." he sounded more serious, but Lapis wasn't amused.

"give me the gun."
I widen my eyes to this. She was about to get shot!
"you want the gun?" he asked in a very friendly way.

"give me. The gun." Lapis demanded, looking dead in the man's eyes.
He began to pull the trigger, and when he pulled it all the way, only a little flame came out of the end. It was a lighter?

"i know a real gun when I see one."

((sherlock holmes reference!! sort of.. I forgot the whole scene.-.))

The man lowered the gu- lighter and smiled at Lapis.
"smart kid. We came here for her because we heard she was a werewolf?"
Lapis looked at them like they were crazy.
"werewolves dont exist, my friend. Even she can tell you."
The men looked at me.

"agreed. No such things as werewolves."
They looked at me for a moment.
"hm.. Well, okay then. We'll be off now. You kid's have a lovely day." one of them waved and they went back to their car. We waved as they drove off.

As soon as they turned the corner, I passed out.

**Lapis's POV**

"Peridot!"
I dropped all my things and caught Peridot before she face planted into the ground. She had passed out. Probably from all the pressure, and fear. She had her backpack with her, so I set her down, put all of our things in there, and put on the backpack.

I picked her up again and she nuzzled my chest. I blushed a bit, and carried her home. One person stared at us for like five minutes with disgust, and I mentally flipped them off.

Why cant this world be wholesome..

We entered the dorm and I set Peridot down on her bed, and her backpack to the side. I looked at her for a while. I didn't really know what to do.. So I just waited for her to wake up. To my surprise, it didn't take long.

After 15 or 20 minutes of staring, she began to stir, and I got excited. I hugged her, even though she didn't fully wake up.

"mm.. Lapis?" she sounded confused.
I didn't answer. Instead I hugged her a little tighter. She hugged me back.
"Lapis, I only passed out.. Im fine."
"yeah, but... Still.."

We stayed hugging for a while. I dont know how long, but it was nice.
"so.. That was pretty impressive."
"..Huh?"
"you, knowing that their gun was actually a lighter. That was badass."
This made me crack a bit of a smile.

"heh.. Thanks. Garnet showed me how to tell whether a gun was real or not."
"sounds like I need some lessons from Garnet."

We both giggled and I layed down next to her, and we cuddled. We lost track of time and im pretty sure we stayed like that for hours. I was half asleep when my phone started ringing.

**Peridot's POV**

Lapis reached over me to grab her phone off my dresser and she answered it.
"hello?"
I could hear a man talking, but I couldn't make out what he was saying.

"this is she."
I heard more talking, and Lapis sat up, quickly.
"wh-what? Please tell me you're joking.."
I began to worry.
"whats wrong, Lapis?"
She ignored me and the guy kept talking.

"y-you have the wrong number.."
I heard the man talk more, but Lapis ended the call.

"who was that??" I asked, sitting up beside her.
"it was the same man we talked to earlier... The men in black. They said they got a sample of your hair and used it to comfirm that you're a wolf. They want you.. He said they'll arive in a week to come get you..."

I looked at her, and tears started streaming down my face.
"n-no... No! I wont let that happen. I wont let then take me away from you.." I hugged her and she hugged back.

"i won't let them... They cant... Its not fair..."
Lapis started crying into my shoulder.
"stupid government.. Think they can do whatever the hell they want.."
I cried more, and hugged Lapis tighter.

"Jasper must've called them... Of course it would be her..." I breathed into her neck, and tried calming down as best as I could.
Lapis pulled away and looked at me.
"Peridot... I have a crazy idea, but it'll mean leaving everything behind.."

I already knew what she was thinking. I thought for a second... Leaving everything behind? Leaving college.. Our friends.. Our lives..

"we'll have to run away... Far away from here.." she said, looking down.
I nodded, and hugged her again.
"only if you want to, Peri.. Im not gonna force you into anything.."
It was the only way to be safe... To run away.

"i think we should.. We'll need to hurry though.. We need to pack."
I pulled away from the hug and looked at her again.
She nodded in agreement, and got up. I did the same.

I went to go look for me and Lapis's suitcases. Took me a while, but I eventually found them. I brought them into the main room, and Lapis already had rummaged through her clothes with a pile of things she could wear on her bed.

I, on the other hand, shoved everything into the suitcase. There was alot of space in it, and we needed as much as we could take. I packed a toothbrush, clothes, my laptop, my phone, money, food, water, 4 portable chargers, brush, hair gel, phone charger, and pretty much everything.

Lapis did the same thing. We were gonna lie to the gang, saying we were gonna camp over the weekend. We were hoping after we 'disappeared', they'd think we got killed by bears or something. It was gonna be tough, but I knew we could pull through.

After hours of packing, we decided to go to sleep. I layed beside Lapis, which made me feel more relaxed, but I couldn't sleep. I was tired, but my eye-lids didn't stay shut.

I was too afraid of the men barging in and taking me. Doing experiments on me.. Or killing me.. At around 4 am, my eyelids felt heavy, and I was finally able to go to sleep. I had nightmares that night, but Lapis was with me. And I was with her.
Safe. In each other's arms.

That last bit was kinda cheesy lmao.
Also, some of you want a nsfw chapter. Should I write one?
