**Peridot's POV**

I woke up pretty early in the morning. I yawned and rubbed my eyes. As I stretched, I noticed something was off. It was silent. Too silent. I looked over to see a bed with no Lapis in it.
Where is she? I thought to myself. I got up and looked around the kitchen, the bathroom, and the rest of the dorm to find no Lapis.
Something didn't feel right. Maybe i was just exaggerating... But I thought it'd be best to go look for her and make sure she's okay. I went to my dresser and put on a giant t-shirt with an alien on it, sweat pants, and my shoes. I stared at my pocket knife for about five minutes until I shoved it into my pocket. I opened the door and walked quietly to the exit. As soon as I stepped outside, i could feel the early morning breeze against my cheeks, and in my messy hair.
This is nice.. I thought.
I walked around campus for a while, looking for the blue-haired girl.
30 minutes later
I was getting worried. I had looked in the same spots five different times, and still nothing. I thought maybe she was already back at the dorm, so i started to head back when I heard screaming, and yelling.
"the hell?" i questioned to myself.
I ran towards the source of the screaming to a dark alley outside campus. I heard Lapis's voice, and a dark, croaky voice that sounded familiar.
"ugh! Let me go!!"
"aww look at you. Squirming like the weak runt you are."
I swear I could hear the person smirking.
"i said let me g-"
I could hear what sounded like alot of slapping and punching, and then a thud. I decided i had had enough.
"Hey!!" i yelled.
Jasper.
I saw her. My ex girlfriend. My heart felt like it had exploded with fear.
She looked over at me with a wide evil smirk across her face, and i felt my whole body shake.
"long time no see, punk."
Her voice scared me in every way possible. Her talking became inaudible to me when I saw Lapis. Laying there in pain. She was crying, hard. Her lip was split, nose was bleeding, and bruises on her wrists, face, and probably all over her body.
"leave her alone, Jasper!"
"or what? You'll try and beat me up? You'll try to call the cops?" she went on a rant about all the excuses that she could possibly think of that i'd do.
Jasper took Lapis by her arm and lifted her up into the air. Lapis was doing nothing. I was scared Jasper was gonna do something literally insane to hurt her.
I was now extremely scared for Lapis, and pissed off as well. I thought I could do nothing, but then I remembered I brought my pocketknife with me.
She wouldn't expect it.
"put her down. Or else." I rose my voice.
"make me put her down, half-pint."
I put my hand in my pocket, waiting for the perfect moment.
She scoffed.
"you're just gonna stand there? Typical." she began to laugh obnoxiously.
As she was laughing, I took this chance to open and throw the pocket at the arm she was holding Lapis with. I saw the knife plant itself into her arm and she yelled in pain, dropping Lapis. I ran and picked Lapis up and sprinted towards campus. I heard very faint footsteps charging at us from behind so I took a turn into another alley, hiding behind a dumpster. I heard her footsteps get closer and closer, then farther and farther. As soon as I couldn't hear her running, I came out of the alley and dashed to the building where our dorm was. I barely had any air left in my lungs, and barely enough energy to open the door. I walked in and brought her to her bed and layed her down on her bed. I went to the kitchen and got the first aid kit, and a cup of water.
I came back and turned on the light.
I sat next to her and opened the kit. There was a large variety of bandaids, bandages, medicine, ointment, wipes, and hydrogen peroxide. I grabbed the hydrogen peroxide first and took Lapis's right arm and examined it for cuts. Sure enough, there were quite a few. I looked up at her.
"this might sting, okay?"
She nodded.
I poured a little bit of the liquid onto each of the cuts and she flinched each time. I applied some ointment to every cut, and scratch and wrapped her arm up with bandages. I repeated this with her other arm. I gave her the cup of water and she finished it within a few seconds. When i finished wrapping the bandages, I got up and got a few ice packs. I set one down against her head, her stomach, and everywhere else she needed them. I went and got a towel, put a little water on it, and came back to wipe the dried blood and the dirt off her face. I finished and threw away the towel. I sat back down next to her. I was so tired. I could barely move my legs. I couldn't think. If felt like 100 pound weights were put on my eye lids. It was probably one of the most crazy/terrifying days of my life.

Everything went black, and I fell asleep.
