BRADLEY
I lean against the wall, waiting impatiently for the clock to tick away minutes and for this period to end. I had it free while Charlotte was stuck inside of a lecture hall all alone. The temptation to burst in and take her out of class was too strong but I didn't because I didn't want her to feel embarrassed.
Instead I waited, like I have for the past fifty five minutes. Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours, I don't understand how I've coped an hour without her.
My feelings all came at once, unexpected. I went from wanting to have casual sex to crushing on her to being totally and utter in love with her so quickly it was all so bizarre to me.
Eventually, the bell rings and I perk off of the wall, waiting for Charlotte to walk out of her lecture hall. I spot her moments later, her hair bouncing behind her as she walks the opposite way.
Shit, I was supposed to meet her at my car.
I walk up behind her quickly, holding on to her hips and picking her up, spinning her around. She lets out a small laugh as I set her back down on the floor, taking her hand and spinning her around so our chests were touching.
"Hi," I press a lips to her pink lips and she moves away, laughing with red cheeks. "I was waiting by your door."
"So excited to see me?" She teases but she wasn't wrong. I was excited to see, in both ways.
Calm down, Brad. You're at uni.
"Lets go home," I suggest, taking her hand in mine and starting to walk towards the exit but she tugs me back with a shy smile.
"Actually, I was going to ask you if it's okay that I stay at the library and study for a midterm I have next week? They have some books that would be useful and I don't wanna buy them," She asks and I nod.
"I'll study. Or watch porn. Maybe both," I grin down at her and she rolls her eyes. "Studying on the human body, I mean."
"You didn't take biology," she laughs up at me and I peck her lips before we walk in the opposite direction to the library. We find a table in the far corner and she dumps her stuff by her chair while I sit down. She scurries off to find her books and I settle down in my chair, getting comfortable.
I pull out my phone, messaging the boys group chat as they talk about the football game that's on tonight. I had to go home and change into my kit since the coach had asked me to play tonight.
"Hey, Brad."
I look up in hope to see Charlotte but I know instantly by the annoying, high pitched voice ringing through my ears that it isn't. I let out a sigh and drop my phone to the table.
"What do you want?" I ask bluntly as Tiara sits on the table with a short skirt, revealing some of her pants but I just roll my eyes.
"I think we both know what I want," she bats her eyelashes. "When will you come to the realisation that you want me, not her?"
I look at her blankly. Was she serious right now?
"I'm pretty, experienced in bed," she explains. "I don't care about school so we can skip together to be with each other. I'm made for you, you know? I've got the perfect figure, the money, everything. She'll leave you as soon as she finds a new man with more money."
I scoff, shaking my head, "jealous really must be a bitch, huh?" She looks down at me with furrowed eyebrows. "Charlotte is so much better than you, she actually has a personality. I don't care what you have to offer, I'm perfectly happy with Charlotte. She makes me happy, you'd just get me laid. Get it into your thick skull that I don't want you, you're nothing compared to Charlotte."
"When will you stop lying to yourself?"
I laugh. I have to laugh at her. She was so dull that she didn't realise that I'm madly in love with Charlotte. She was so deluded by the fact she wanted me that when I literally said I don't want you, she thinks I'm the only lying to myself.
"I think you should go," I say, my face changing from laughter to serious but she only edges close to me, her eyes trained on my lips. I already knew what to expect when her lips met mine, moving against my stilled ones.
I push her off quickly, uncomfortable as soon as she touched me and I hadn't noticed her hand was on my cheek until it scraped against my skin. My blood was boiling.
"You're disgusting," I say with venom in my voice. "You know full-well I'm here with Charlotte. I bet your creepy ass even followed us here. You're so obsessed with me that you think you stand a chance but you're just desperate to get laid. If you ever lay your crusty lips on mine again, it's game over. You hear me?"
She was surprised, her mouth opening and closing, making her look like a fish. She scoffs before turning around and strutting away, flicking her hair. I had a feeling she won't cause any trouble anymore.
My eyes flicker from the walking devil to Charlotte, who was hugging some books to her chest as she watched the scene fold under her gaze.
She was out of earshot, anyone knew that. Even in a library, I had spoken to Tiara quietly yet harshly. How much had she seen? What if she had seen the kiss?
She moved over slowly, her eyes tearing from my gaze to Tiara as she finally exited the library. Once she meets me, she places the books on the table and sits down. I reach out for her hand and take it mine, rubbing my thumb over her palm.
"It's not what it looks like—"
"I know." I stop talking, surprised by her reply. She smiles up at me. "I trust you enough to not make out with my best—ex-best friend—willingly. And I think by the way she stormed out and glared at me that she got rejected. Again."
"God, you being understanding is such a turn on." Sometimes I hated that my mouth had no filter.
She laughs nervously, "I'm gonna go get one more book. Try not to kiss anymore girls while I get them."
"You got it," I grin and she stands up, removing her hand from my hold and walking away to get more books.
I pick up my phone to message the boys but all I can think about it Tiara kissing me. And how wrong it felt compared to when Charlotte kissed me. And then I started thinking about Charlotte kissing me and where that led to—Before I know it, I'm searching for Charlotte in the library to kiss her. In the library.
"Surprise," I press kisses along her neck as soon as I find her with her nose between a book. She's surprised to feel the sudden action but she laughs.
"Brad, we're in the library," she giggles as I wrap my arms around her waist. "We are not doing this in the library."
"You said not to kiss any other girls," I hum against her skin, spinning her around quickly and resting my forehead to hers. My heart was beating quickly against my chest. "Didn't say I couldn't kiss you."
She pecks my lips, a small smile hinting on her face, "that's enough kissing. I've got to study."
"Rent the books out, we're going home now."
