I was here... I was actually here. I looked in the mirror, and noticed some exceptional differences. I had toned up, because of all the errand-running I did as Chat Noir... it seemed I could do more physically, and it was showing. My hair was longer... it went down to the tops of my shoulders, and I didn't exactly hate it. I was much skinnier in the face... that could've been attributed to the first two-three months of the curse, when I was dropping pounds due to my limited access to food, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought; Marinette had been keeping me well fed, and it was safe to say that maybe my stomach did shrink from the start of it all. I kind of looked like a different person, and I wasn't exactly mad at it. Besides, if my father were to find me, well, it certainly wouldn't be pretty... the best course of action would be to keep my hair longer like it was now, maybe try to find some contacts that hid my green eyes, and wear some glasses or maybe even sunglasses to hide my face even more. Marinette was currently disguising herself with a wig, gray contacts, and reading glasses with no prescription lenses. However, she planned on getting hair extensions to help her hide her identity a little more. Juleka after all, did have a passion for makeup and hair. But, if worse came to worse; I was a Disguiser... I could hide us if I needed to. Not that any of us wanted to do that, but Marinette was still being sought after by the Anti-Magic Counsel, and that wasn't good, either. We needed to take a new course of action, but I had no idea what to do. Then, it hit me. I could cast a disguising spell on everything we owned, from our passports to our licenses... I could give it a shot.
"Marinette?" I left the bathroom, "Marinette, where are you...? I opened her door, and she was passed out on the floor. "MARINETTE!" I bent down next to her. She was breathing, but she wasn't waking up. She probably passed out from magic exhaustion... I took her to her bed, ad tucked in her in. She was beginning to curl up, and begin glowing a little... she was replenishing her essence. Her face squinted, as her breathing became uneven. I was starting to get nervous. Then, I heard a knock on the door. I took a pair of black fake reading glasses she never used (because they were much too big for her, and slipped them on. I slipped on a jacket, and answered the door. It was a man with the Anti-Magic Counsel badge.
"Hello, sir. Do you live here alone?"
"Yes, sir. Is everything okay?" I asked him.
"No. We're on the look for an eighteen year old runaway. Her name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and she is known to have magic powers. She was seen about a week ago, and we have every reason to believe she's in the area." I was so relieved that there were no photos of anyone in this house... otherwise it would've been very obvious I was lying.
"I've heard about her... the news was talking about that not too long ago, correct?"
"Yes. Here's an information sheet about where you can contact us." the man handed it to me, and I took it reluctantly. He left the door, and I closed it, locking it after a couple of moments. I looked at the sheet, and sighed.
"MISSING PERSON: MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG. WANTED, ALIVE. $5,000 REWARD. CALL --- --- ---- IF FOUND." They put a reward on her, and not just any reward; a reward crazy enough for people to look... anywhere. Not only was she being chased by the Anti-Magic Counsel, but anyone who might've gotten this sheet was on the lookout. We were completely screwed. I needed to wake her up, and we needed to relocate. Who knows... someone could've recognized her from the complex, or the stores nearby. I made sure absolutely everything was locked, and I rolled down all the windows. I went into Marinette's room, and she was still sound asleep. Where could I go? Where was an okay place? I thought about it for a little bit, and then came to a conclusion that maybe it'd be best if we stayed with Master Fu for a little while. He was the only other person who knew who we were, who wasn't a teacher.
"Marinette, wake up." I nudged her, "Marinette, we need to go, soon." she wasn't moving still. She must've used too much magic in one go. I started packing stuff. I was packing the clothes from her closet, and all of her shoes, bathroom stuff, and just about everything she needed. Then, I packed the things I had. There was not a lot, since most of the time I was in the suit... but it was something.I ran back to her room, and Tikki was up, and looking rather worried.
"Do we need to go?" she asked me. Plagg was next to her.
"Yeah." I answered, "I packed everything, but Marinette's not waking up. Is there anyway you can wake her up?" I asked Tikki.
"No." she answered, "I've been trying, believe me. Then, someone knocked on the door.
"Shoot." I took a look through the peephole, and it was two men in suit. There were associated from the Anti-Magic Counsel. They had a search warrant on them. I slowly went back to Marinette's room, and transformed as Chat Noir. Then, I covered Marinette with a blanket, and carried everything to Master Fu's home through the window. As soon as I left, I heard the door being ripped off the hinges. We barely made it. Tikki was hiding in Marinette's blanket, and we made it to Master Fu's shop, where he was mixing something together. He turned around, and immediately stopped everything he was doing.
"Young man... what happened?"
"I will explain everything, please, just help Marinette." he nodded, and we got to work. Master Fu had a spare room that Marinette and I would need to share. Marinette was currently in a bed set up by Master Fu in a healing room he used on his clients. I transformed back, and Master Fu took care of Marinette. I was told to wait in my room until we could talk about what had happened. He didn't take long.
"It's magic exhaustion, I-" he looked at me, "You're back!"
"O-Oh, yeah, I am." I chuckled... "It's because of her."
"So, you two know at last?" he asked me.
"Yes." I answered. "We're both aware of our masks."
"She was able to break your curse?"
"Yeah. Our Uncovering happened today, and we were able to get me back to normal. It came with the cost of her energy, though. She used too much at once, and in short notice. The Anti-Magic Counsel is still out for her, so I had to take her here, I hope you don't mind."
"No, not at all. I'm glad I am trusted." Master Fu smiled, before frowning, "They are still looking for her?"
"Yes. We've tried everything, I know she's put a lot of time and effort into hiding herself. I mean, we've done it all. Wigs, contacts, glasses, different outfits. We were going to go as far as using magic to hide her. That, or we go out as Chat Noir and Ladybug more than we probably should."
"Well, it's not a bad thing. People seem to like them."
"Which makes me question the laws on magic here at Paris... if magic was so bad, why do Parisians support Ladybug and Chat Noir?"
"Isn't that something we'd all like to know?" Master Fu sighed, "I've got no idea, and I've been here for over 100 years." he chuckled, "None of the less, you have the suit, so why not do something about it?"
"You think Ladybug and I could do that?"
"In this day and age? I believe it." Master Fu answered, "You two are impacting more than just Paris. You have a technology any other super would've dreamed of. Use it to spread a message."
"Where am I?" I heard Marinette mumble. She was up... why not at the apartment?
"I gave her a couple things to help speed up the process." Master Fu answered, as if he could read my mind. We headed to the room she was in, and I sat down next to her,
"You were out-cold. The Anti-Magic Counsel found the apartment, Marinette. I packed up everything, don't worry."
"They found it?" her face went pale, "No, no, are you sure you packed everything?"
"Look if you want." I pulled her suitcase. I packed... EVERYTHING. From the stuff in the depths of the closet, to the stuff under the bed. She slowly shuffled through everything, and sighed of relief. She pulled out a lock box, and revealed a key that was around her neck.
"Oh, Adrien, thank you." she placed a hand on her chest, while trying to catch her breath.
"Lay down, child, you can't deal with stress right now." Master Fu advised, "You've still got to lay down and heal completely."
"What if an akuma comes?" Marinette looked at me, "I'm the only one who can-"
"Don't worry, Marinette." I assured her, "Nothing's going to happen. You're going to be okay."
"You can't guarantee that, Adrien."
"I know I can't. Even if there was one, you would not be able to fight properly. It's just not going to happen."
"Agreed." Master Fu tucked her in, "Don't worry, you're fine here. I'm not going to let you two be discovered by the Anti-Magic Counsel."~~~~~~
Well, they got Master Fu... lol. Let me tell you, this school year is already off to a hectic start. When everyone says Junior year is the hardest, they mean the HARDEST. Updates will probably be much slower... :( But, I'm still going to try to update whenever I can, because I love writing this story, and I know some of you out there love reading it. But, yeah! Thanks for reading, and I will see you all very soon!!
