"Good morning." I exclaimed in the phone. My body was tensed up.

"Wouh, it's so early." Linda groaned in the phone and I giggled.

"Yes, I'm very well aware of that, I just couldn't really sleep because I was dying to tell you that my mother signed the permission." I tried to control my voice but my emotions were just all over the place.

"Oh, hun, I'm actually super glad to hear that. It would've sucked to look for another student." We both smiled.

"I really want to hug you right now." She said and it felt like I'm going to start to cry. I don't remember the last time when someone said something like that to me.

"I really wanna hug you too." I said while holding back my tears.

"So, to be clear, your plane is next Friday, at 12pm and we will be already waiting for you in the airport. Do you want some more details? Maybe like pictures of our house or something else?" Her voice seemed so excited like she would be my age and not a married woman.

"No, I'm sure that everything's perfect." I said and I meant it.

"Awesome. We can't wait to see your cute face!"

I had an unbelievably amazing feeling about this, but then again I was terrified that life will play a bad joke on me and I'll end up living in this shitty town for my whole life and become just like my mother.

This week will be extra long and stressful and I have to get some more money. I will probably work in England as well, because there's no way that I'll be living off of their money. That's just not who I am, even if they are okay with that.

I went downstairs to eat something and leave the house. Surprisingly my mother was already up. She never leaves her room before at least eleven in the morning but now she was in the kitchen and cooking something.

What the actual fuck?

"Morning." She said while I was just standing there and blinking.

"Do you also want some pancakes?" Without looking at me, she asked. But I couldn't move or answer her. Seemed like I didn't know how to talk anymore.

"Um, okay. Sure!" I exhaled.

"Then wait for a little bit, they should be done soon. Oh, there's also some coffee left." she said while humming to some horrible 80s rock song.

Still in shock, I went to take a mug and poured myself some coffee.

"You're up early." I tried to break the silence and understand what is she trying to do here.

"Yes. I was thinking a lot, couldn't really sleep." She shrugged her shoulders.

"What about you? You're up early as well. It's not even eight." She finally turned around to face me. Her face was tired but beautiful. My mother has always been beautiful.

"Oh, wait, are you leaving today? I'm sorry I don't really keep the track of what day it is!" For a second her face dropped. It was almost fear.

"No, I'm leaving next Friday." I took a sip of my coffee. What is this therapy session?

"I signed that paper." Her voice cracked a little and she turned around. Then she took two plates and placed there pancakes. They actually looked so good, that I couldn't wait until I get to eat them.

"I know, I saw. Thank you." I nodded and she gave me my plate. Hers was in her hands.

We didn't really know how to talk to each other. We always yell.
