The night felt like the longest night in my whole life. Around four, I gave up and got out of my bed. I made it and it probably looked the tidiest that it's ever been.

After that I printed my ticket and already tucked it into my not so big suitcase. It was just ten minutes past four.

I ended up making a bath, lighting a candle and watching some funny compilations on YouTube.

I sat there for about forty minutes until the water became uncomfortably cold.

I got out, blow dried my hair, after that, curled them. I mean, I had all the time in the world at the moment, and curly hair actually looked somewhat good on me.

When my hair was ready, I put on a mascara and I was ready to go. With a towel around my body, I walked into my small room. My outfit was already on the chair. It was blue mom jeans and a tee shirt with stripes.

Then I put some more things into my suitcase, took my charged phone and was ready to go downstairs. It was only seven in the morning but I had nothing else to do in my room. Maybe if my mom will be up, we could talk, or I'm just gonna make pancakes for us.

I turned around to look one more time at my tiny room that I shared so many secrets and memories with.

"Good morning." I wasn't really surprised anymore when I saw my mom already sitting in the kitchen and sipping her black coffee. She was still in her pajamas and with her crazy bed hair, though.

"I was about to hit the shower, I'll be quick, then I'll make some breakfast." She said once she saw me. I nodded and gave her a smile.

"I'm gonna make coffee while you're showering." I said and moved further into the kitchen.

I actually didn't wanted to leave her! Suddenly, this town didn't seem bad at all. I mean, I had a completely crazy but lovely gay best friend, Tom, who's just such a goofball, and now a mom who actually cares about me. But it was too late to turn back now.

My heart hurt.

Mom came back dressed in a dark blue jumpsuit.

"You going somewhere?" I raised my eyebrow, looking at her with a playful look.

"Yes, they actually want for me to start working already today." She said, shrugging her shoulders.

"I want pancakes. Maybe you would like to help me?" I asked in a voice that was asking for serious help. I suck at cooking.

"What's that look for? Of course, I'll help you." She laughed and I couldn't help it, so I laughed too.

"Goodbyes are the worst, just text me when you're there and when you're safe with your host family." My mom said while trying to hold her tears, when we were standing by the door sill.

"Oh, here's little something for you from my savings!" she lifted her finger up, as remembering something important.

She ran back in the house to her room and not long after, I was already holding like 500 dollars in my hands.

"Wait, no, mom! This is too much!" I exclaimed knowing damn well that she needs money more than me.

"Just shut up young lady!" she smiled at me.

"Promise me that you will be happy!"

"I will be." I whispered.

"I love you, my sweetheart. Always remember that." She finally said and hugged me. I could see through her whole body how hard it was for her to say it out loud.

I hugged her. And I didn't want to let go of her.

"I love you, mom." I whispered into her hair.

Without looking back, I walked to the taxi that was already waiting for me. If I'd stay for any longer I would not be sitting on a plane in a few hours.

Airports are just awful. Thankfully the whole checking in process happened fast and after like an hour, I was already sitting in the cafeteria, sipping my tea. I had forty more minutes until my flight, and this whole waiting already got me sick.

My stomach kept weirdly aching. It was like butterflies but fear at the same time. Not the best combination out there.

Once I entered the plane, fear just got stronger. It also took me some quite time until I found my seat. It was right next to the window.

I got to see the clouds but the lady in the middle acted really rude when I was trying to get past her to go and pee.

Slowly my eyes got heavier and I fell asleep in one of the deepest sleep I've had in a while.

"Welcome in London." A loud lady's voice over the speakers put me back to the living.

Hold on!

My body was completely tensed up while I was leaving the plane and going to the airport. It felt like how it would feel after a really long run when all your muscles ache in pain.

But I couldn't wait to see them both. I had all these images in my mind though, but I'm completely sure that no matter what, they're going to be lovely.

"Oh my god!" I yelled and jumped up when I saw a women and a man, instantly looking around.

It's got to be them!

They both turned their heads once they heard me. We started to move forward to each other.

It's safe to say that Linda was stunning. She had a light brown hair, big eyes, red cheeks and she looked so young! The man walking besides her was also really handsome and he had the warmest smile all over his face. They both were so beautiful that it was almost painful to watch them.

People like them exist?

"Oh, my sweet girl." Linda exclaimed once I was close enough for her to hug me. She smelled like vanilla and her hug felt like a safe place already.

"You have no idea how long I waited for this moment." The man said and I finally gave him my full attention.

"I'm Derek." He said with a big smile. I ran to him so that I could also hug the life out of him as well.

"Oh, I might even cry." He said and chuckled.

"How bout we make a hug sandwich?" Linda yelled, and we ended up laughing and hugging each other.

Many times. All over again.

I honestly couldn't be more happy.
