The next week I spent by just adapting and getting used to my new life. On Tuesday I finally decided to leave the house for the first time. I found out that the shopping center is really near to the house, so I went there. I bought a few pairs of jeans and sweaters, also notebooks and other stuff for school, which was starting already in three weeks. To be honest, I was so ready to meet some new people and make friends. I hope British people are nice!
I was sitting in my room and looking through some available jobs around here, when Linda ran into my room.
"You're going grocery shopping with me!" She stated and I chuckled.
"Why groceries are so important now?"
"Because we're having a special dinner tonight." She yelled, then ran to me and grabbed my wrist to pull me out of my comfy bed.
"And why's that? Am I that special?" I teased her.
"Well, of course you are but I guess, not tonight." She laughed, while we stepped downstairs.
"Alec is coming home!"
My stomach rolled itself and I started to cough a little.
Again, no one in this house seem to think that it's important to tell me something like that!
"After like six months, he's finally coming home!" Linda's face was just shining from the big smile.
"What took him so long?"
"Well, lately he's not been himself. I feel like he holds lots of stuff inside of him because he doesn't want to open up. He rarely smiles now, doesn't call at all. I don't know much, just that someone really hurt her." She sighed and it was obvious that it was painful for her to say it.
"I'm so sorry to hear that."
And I really was.

For the next few hours I helped Linda in the kitchen. Then Derek came but almost after like a minute, he got a call, so he had to go to his home office to probably work some more. The clock showed that it's a few minutes past six.
He was late.
"He should be here any minute now." Linda sighed from behind and nervously chuckled.
"He'll come." I walked to her and gave her a warm smile and hugged her. Right then, we heard how the door is opening and right after, closing.
Before I could even blink, Linda was already long gone and I was left awkwardly standing in the kitchen. I decided to walk closer. My plan was to be there and experience everything but not bother them with my presence. Okay, it was mostly only because I was dying to see this Alexander.
I mean look at his parents!
"Welcome home!" I heard Linda's shaky voice, and then I finally saw them.
I had to blink a few times to make sure that everything's okay with my eyes.
The boy was super tall, with dark, messy and a little bit curly hair, wearing a grey sweater and black ripped jeans with vans shoes. He had big eyes just like his mom, warm smile, beautiful cheek bones, unbelievable jawline and probably like the best figure. He was tall but still pretty muscular.
He was giving probably the sweetest smile that I've ever seen to his mother.
I felt like a stalker and a dumbass, but I just couldn't turn around or go away.
There was something about this Alexander that made me want to stay. It wasn't just because how sexy he was, there was more to it. I could already tell that there is so much more to him than just a pretty face.
I decided to close my eyes and let them rest for a moment. I thought that would slow down my thinking.
"Ahem." I heard a raspy voice. My eyes automatically popped open.
That Alexander guy was staring at me! Is this the moment when he gives a warm hug to his now sister?
His eyes were traveling up and down my body and I felt like I was standing there naked.
"You're a new face." He chuckled and stepped one step closer.
Okay, that chuckle was hot!
"Um, I'm Rose." I said quietly, because that was all I could get out of myself at that moment.
"Alexander. You can call me Alec, though." He gave me a little wink, before walking past me.
My breathing was speeded up, so I stayed there for like a minute or two before I joined them in the kitchen. Derek was here, sitting in the couch with Alec and talking, while Linda was putting food on the plates. I felt really awkward, to be honest. Somehow, even like I didn't belong here anymore.
"Honey, will you please help me?" I heard Linda's sweet voice and automatically smiled. Just on time!
When she handed me the first two plates, I heard that raspy voice again.
If a voice could make you wet it would be this one right here.
"I can help as well." He said and I turned around to place the food on the table, but that wasn't a good idea at all, because now I was facing him, and we were too close to each other.
I felt his eyes on my body again and it felt like it burns. Then he looked into my eyes.
"Can you please move a bit?" I chuckled and finally looked up to see his face.
"Oh, excuse me, of course." He said, automatically stepping a few steps away. His face had turned red, which made me smile.
"You're just a beautiful girl." He sighed, and I probably stopped breathing there for a minute. With shaking my head, I walked to the table and sat down.
Is it even okay that he flirts with me? He is just nice, right? He probably has children anyways.
