"You ready?" Alec wrapped his arms around my waist and leaned forward to my face. Then, probably surprising us both, he put his lips on my cheek and placed a soft kiss there.
"If that dude wouldn't be staring that much, I'd actually kiss you." he moved his lips to my ear and whispered. I gasped a little.
"I mean, of course, I'm just kidding!" he chuckled and I felt his hot breath on my neck.
"Let me just grab my things and say goodbye to everyone." I pretended that his words wasn't making me dizzy and smiled at him.
"I'll be outside waiting for you." he smiled back and let go of me.
I rushed into the changing room, changed into my jeans and hoodie, grabbed my bag and rushed out.
Seemed like Jacob was waiting for me the whole time because he was standing against the exit doors with a concerned face and crossed arms.
"You okay?" I politely asked.
I've noticed how his eyes light up every time when he sees me, or how big his smile is whenever I give him my attention. For once in my life I could clearly see how someone is crushing on me.
In every other situation I'd probably feel pleased with something like this but now? Now it made me feel quite uncomfortable because of only one reason. I wanted for Alec to be the only man in my life who pays attention to me this way. I wanted it to be him and only him. I couldn't explain it how and when did that happen, I just knew it.
"Just friends, huh?" he sighed and gave me a sad look.
"Well, I wasn't lying to you when I said that. We're not official or anything." I tried to defend myself even though I didn't really had to explain him anything.
"Not yet."
"Hey, listen, this is my private life, okay, and sorry, but you have no place in it, so will you please excuse me because he's waiting for me?" I felt myself getting a bit mad because he had no reason to be jealous.
"I'm sorry, I know I probably sounded like an asshole. Enjoy your time with him. See you in school, Rosie!" he smiled at me and stepped away from the doors.
"Bye, Jacob." I shook my head and left the store. That was weird. He is weird. I'm weird. The whole situation is weird.
I jumped into Alec's car and its warmth and his smell made me feel safe. Kind of like home. Kind of like a place where I needed to be.
"Put on your seatbelt, princess. We have quite some time to drive." he kept smiling the whole time.
"Um, I kind of need to go home first, I mean, I have to pack some clothes." I chuckled and he shook his head.
"Oh, right! Sorry." he laughed and started to drive out of the driving lot, asking me if I wanted to listen to some music.
"Oh, but I'm looking for a song!" I exclaimed and bounced in my chair.
"As the girl wishes." he lifted his hands up in the air and said.
We still ended up listening to rock that was supposed to be indie as Alec said.
"Hey, um, does your parents know about this? I haven't really talked with them about this." I asked when I started to recognize the houses and streets.
"I actually thought that you're gonna let them know." he looked at me like I was guilty and then laughed.
"What the hell we gonna do now?" I exclaimed.
