Spoons

I flinched as a wooden spoon sailed over my head. We had just arrived home, but the tension between Jungkook and Taehyung had yet to dissipate. Jimin, Jin, and Namjoon had headed out to talk with CL, while I was 'resting' from clearing out more of the blue with Jin. Unfortunately none of us had factored in Jungkook or Taehyung into this rest. The noise of their bickering was borderline unbearable, so I'd had my head buried into a my pillow. I got up, and walked over to the discarded spoon, and picked it up.

'I didn't throw it.' Taehyung said.

'Good for you.' I muttered as I put it back in its draw.

'You think it's my fault?' He asked incredulously.

'It's not?' Jungkook shouted from across the room.

'You threw it!' Taehyung retorted.

'You were asking for it!'

'Did you hear me say please throw that spoon at my-'

'Will you two grow up!' I snapped. They both stared at me. 'Have you both forgotten you are guests here?! Don't look at me like that Taehyung, you are really pushing your luck.' I spat. 'This is my home, so please try to be civil.' I implored. They both muttered agreements walking away. Taehyung sat down sulkily at the table, and stared pointedly at the wall opposite. Jungkook had similarly sat down by himself by a wall and was reading a book. I groaned slightly as I realised he wasn't turning the pages. At least they weren't arguing anymore.

Suddenly Tae sat bolt upright, and swore very loudly.

'What day is it today?' He asked. I counted quickly on my fingers, it was the 8th two weeks ago.

'The 22nd day of the Moon' I told him. He swore again. 'Is something wrong?' I asked nervously.

'Nope everything is fine!' He said, rummaging through his pockets. He pulled out an unused tissue, and stared at it forlornly. I nodded slowly. He got up, and ran over to Jungkook, who suspiciously got to his feet. Tae whispered something in his ear, and Jungkook's eyes widened. He looked over at me nervously, then back at Tae. Jungkook grabbed Taehyung by the collar, and dragged him to the ladder.

'Your brother has a personal issue he has to deal with.' Jungkook told me. They both left, leaving me scratching my head. I looked around at the devastation the passing storm had caused and sighed. It wasn't just spoons that had been thrown. I began tidying the room, then turned as I heard the trapdoor open again. I gasped as a battered Jimin climbed down the ladder. He had a bruise over his cheek.

'Are you alright?' I asked rushing over. He winced slightly as I brushed my fingers over the purple mark on his face. I quickly ran over to the fridge. I opened it, and pulled out an ice pack I use to keep potion ingredients cool. Jin and Namjoon climbed in after Jimin.

'I tripped.' He mumbled, not meeting my eyes.

'With your face?' I asked, as I took my jumper off to cover the ice pack. I wrapped it in a layer of sleeve, then pressed it gently to his face.

'Well, I sort of...'

'He got in a fight.' Namjoon told me.

'Why?' I asked, not really sure who I was asking.

'It wasn't my fault.' Jimin said quietly.

'Some people were being, uh, rude about you at the pub.' Jin said.

'You don't have to look out for me Jimin.' I said softly.

'You always say that, but I want to.' He replied. 'And they were being so crude.' I closed my eyes and grimaced. 'But where are the other two?' He asked.

'They went out in a bit of rush.' I explained.

'So they're getting along?' Namjoon asked brightly.

'Nope, they're practically at each other's throats.' I said. 'You don't know the dangers of low flying spoons.' I joked. 'You can bet they're bickering now.' I said, and Jin sighed.

'You were meant to be resting.' He complained.

'I can now.' I said. 'Anything I can do first?' I offered.

'No, you're banned from helping, so lie down.' Jin ordered. I held my hands up and walked over to my mattress.

'The wounded soldier also needs rest.' Jimin said dramatically, following close behind me. He pushed the mattress to the wall, and pit our cushions to the wall, then sat down he patted the space next to him, and I sat down, and snuggled into him as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

'It's your own fault your hurt.' I said.

'And totally worth it.' He replied. 'A great excuse to sit with you.'

I shifted slightly, and rested my head on his arm. He stroked my hair, and I closed my eyes, relaxing. We sat for a while in each other's company. After a while I could feel myself slipping into a slumber.

'Jimin?' I mumbled.

'Hmm.'

'I...'
