Terrified

I woke up terrified. Jimin was missing, and a loud banging was coming from the door. I whipped my head to the side, and realised I was completely alone and in the dark. I felt out to the side of me and the mattress was cold. Tears began to leak from my eyes and my throat constricted. Then I realised we'd moved in with Hoseok. Jimin wasn't sleeping beside me tonight.

I stumbled through the darkness towards the door, and patted the door until I found it. I opened it a fraction. Jimin looked at me through the door and I opened it enough to let him through. He smiled apologetically as he walked in.

'I couldn't sleep.' He explained. 'Not without you.' He said and I nodded and he took my hand. 'Why aren't you sleeping on the bed?' He asked, gesturing to the four poster bed at the back of the room.

'I'm so used to sleeping on the floor that I moved the mattress.' I explained.

'Have you been crying?' He asked gently, tilting my face towards his.

'Turns out I can't sleep without you either.' I said weakly. He smiled slightly.

We both sat together on my mattress. Jimin's eyes had shadows beginning to show beneath them. He kept his eyes on the door while I watched, barely moving. I had no idea what was on his mind, but he seemed scared.

'Jimin?' I prompted. 'What's wrong.' He shook his head, but said nothing, still watching the door. 'Please talk to me.' I implored.

'It's nothing.' He said.

'What's scaring you?'

'I'm not scared!' He snapped.

'Then stop watching the door and look at me.' I urged him. He tore his eyes away, and looked at me. He looked at me as though he was looking for something.

'You promise you won't go anywhere without me?' Jimin asked.

'I'll need to go to the loo sometimes.' I said, trying to get him to laugh, but he just nodded seriously. 'Why?'

'Promise!' He said insistently.

'I can't be around you 24/7 Jimin.' I said. 'But I'm not going anywhere.'

'Ok.' He said quietly.

'Jimin you can trust me.' I said softly. He looked away. 'Was it the night guard?' I asked. He didn't reply. 'What did they show you?' I asked. He looked down at his hands.

'I'm scared.' He whispered. I held his hands in mine, and when I felt how they were shaking, I held them tighter. 'They threatened me with you.' He whispered, squeezing my hands. 'And Nochu makes a mistake.'

'What do you mean?' I said softly.

'I'm not sure.' Jimin wavered. He looked away, blinking hard. 'But there were two of him and he looked scared.' Jimin whispered. 'Jungkook doesn't cry.' Jimin said desperately. 'And they can't find you!' Jimin begged. 'Because then everyone was crying.' Jimin said with tears streaming down his face. 'And I don't want to see that again!' I let go of his hands and pulled him into a hug, as he shook violently in my arms.

'They made, they made me go to your funeral!' He sobbed, and my heart broke for him.

'I'm right here.' I soothed.

'You were. Dead.'

'I'm not going to die.' I whispered into his hair. He sniffed. And nodded. I pulled away, wiping the tears from his cheeks. I gave him a delicate peck on the tip of his nose. He blinked a couple of times, then wiped his eyes on his sleeve.

'Thank you.' He croaked, and he returned the kiss. 'You always make me feel better.'
