Taunting And Teasing.

Roger's P.O.V.

Sleep didn't come easily, if at all.

If I let myself listen carefully I could still hear the yelps of pleasure coming from the two men in the room opposite mine...how careless Freddie could be to leave his door ajar.

It was almost as if he wanted me to hear them. Taunting and teasing me. As if he wanted me to see what I could be getting...but I'm not.

Eventually I drifted off to sleep after having to block everything out with a pillow over my head.

Only stirring slightly, many hours later when I heard Freddie's hotel room door closing and heavy footsteps rushing down the hallway.

Either Freddie had gone down to get a drink at the bar, or his one night stand had snook out and left Freddie to wake up to a lonely bed, again.

The latter option was probably the more realistic one.

When the early morning light started to stream through the crack in the curtains, I rubbed my eyes groggily and sat up in bed, feeling a little empty inside from last nights words that were said and noises that were heard.

But I knew I had to sweep it all under the carpet and forget about it for the time being. Things were already hard enough having to deal with the feud between Brian and Fred, never mind me potentially adding to the tension and causing an argument too, otherwise the group would be an actual broken mess.

I showered quickly and got changed into something casual, we had a free day today, just to relax, get used to the jet lag what with the different time zones, recuperate and rejuvenate ourselves before the real work starts tomorrow, a radio interview, which Freddie fucking hated and would no doubt try every trick in the book to get out of, not like it was going to be awkward enough without Brian there, we were obviously going to be asked where Brian was, as if they didn't know he was on his bloody honeymoon with a woman I doubt he even wanted to marry.

I still had questions for the guitarist and I knew he had the fucking answers. He can't keep quiet for the rest of his life. The truth will come out eventually.

I left my hotel room to go down to breakfast, hoping that I wouldn't be the first out of the three of us to be down there, but low and behold, both Deaky and Freddie were already sat in a corner, munching on food.

I made eye contact with Deaky and he gave me a little wave, I replied with a warm smile, John was one of those people who was like a comfort blanket. Always there when I needed him and made you feel better even when you didn't realise you need to be made to feel that way.

I glanced at Freddie who I also made eye contact with and instantly felt my stomach twist into a knot, nerves maybe? Embarrassment at what I heard last night? The common, I know what you did last night, feel? Or was it just the fact that he made me nervous and gave me ridiculously active butterflies?
I sat down opposite them.

"Morning, Blondie." Deaks chuckled, halfway through a slice of toast.

"Morning..." I said, amidst a voice crack that made me sound even more shifty than what I felt.

The frontman was silent but I could tell his eyes were burning right through me.

I reached over for the water jug and began to fill up a glass with slightly quivering hands, spilling a little on the table.

Fred's hand suddenly grabbed the water jug from me, making me jump.

He looked at me playfully and continued to fill up my glass with a steady, calm hand.

"What's the matter with you this morning, Taylor? You seem shifty." The clever bugger observed.

I could never ever hide how I was feeling to him, he had some kind of sixth sense and he always figured me out.

I was glad that there seemed to be no tension from last nights argument...Freddie appeared to be in good spirits this morning, looking more spritely than he has for weeks.

Maybe it was the American air or the time away from Brian that was finally letting his mind rest.
Or maybe it was the good fuck he had last night that has gotten rid of some of his anger, but it won't be long until the dark cloud floats back over him when he's ready for another release.

Either way, I was happy to see him like this, it was a rare occasion nowadays.

I shook my head quickly, "I'm fine." I said quickly, leaving the table before any of them could question me further and going up to get some breakfast.

I eventually returned with a plate of food and we all sat eating for a short while.

"So what ungodly hour did you return at last night, Fred?" Deaks chuckled.

Freddie looked up and glanced at me, "I'm not sure. Why don't you ask, Roger?" He slyly said.

My eyes immediately widened and a pang of panic trickled through my veins.

Fuck. Had Freddie caught me spying on him last night?!

"Wh-why would I know?" I rushed.

"I don't know, you're the one that always stays awake to make sure I've gotten home safe, silly twat." Fred chuckled lightly.

Thank god. He was just referring to my usual routine of staying up and not sleeping until I knew Freddie was home, he didn't catch me lurking outside his open door, then.

"Oh..." I allowed myself to relax and giggle a little, "...I fell asleep almost as soon as I got back so I've no idea when you got in..." I lied, but to me, that sounded believable.

"I'm also going to guess you didn't return alone?" Deaky asked, his voice full of knowing already.

Freddie scoffed, "Of course not, darling. I caught my prey and I used it. He was actually very nice." He seemed proud of himself.

"Not nice enough to stay the night..." I grumbled, having a little dig, letting jealousy talk.

The two men stared at me as if both silently asking how I knew that.

"And how would you know that, Roger?" The frontman eventually asked out loud.

I shrugged, "Just gathering that if he did, he would either have joined us for breakfast, or you wouldn't be here with us, you'd be with him instead."

Freddie's dark eyes were staring intently at me whilst he lifted his fork, placing it in his mouth and letting it slide, slowly, back out between his lips, "Accurate, I suppose. But no. He couldn't stay, he had to get back to his place on the other side of town so he could get to work this morning, or something like that." He mentioned, casually.

"Hmm, normal working guy, doesn't sound like the type you usually go for, Fred. Doesn't sound exciting enough for you." John teased, earning a playful elbow to the arm by Freddie.

"Well he was actually very fucking nice. And if you must know, I'm seeing him again tonight." He smirked.

Suddenly, my appetite disappeared.
