Freddie's P.O.V.
The rest of the evening spent with Matthew and that glorious view thankfully grew a little lighter in conversation, the Brian topic halted and I ended up learning a lot about him.
How he actually studied to be a chef but ended up falling out of love with the idea, he had always been artistic and always loved fashion...so combined the two and started to design his own clothes, making them, wearing them...people started to ask him about them, wanting him to make them pieces too...
How he sadly, had never met his Father...
How he had previously been engaged...up until a year ago...when he walked into his home to find his fiancé in bed...with a another woman.
That part of his story, was perhaps a little too close to home.Although he spilled most of his life story out to me, and it was interesting to sit and listen to, I was still reserved when it came to telling him things about myself, my answers came short, basic and stripped back, revealing minimal information.
I had to be careful, proffesionally, I didn't know who I could trust and who I couldn't, so I wasn't about to tell a practical stranger my juicy life details when he could quite easily run to the tabloids and have all those things printed in the newspapers.
I had to be careful personally too...some things I didn't want to talk about, some things I felt he simply didn't need to know, sometimes I felt he was asking just to be nosey...It was a few days later now, and although I thought Matthew was terribly lovely, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to see him again...he was a great person...attractive too...but again, I just didn't want to commit to anything long term.
Maybe I would see him again...he's been in contact since the date, asking if I'm free tomorrow night...was I up for anymore of his surprises? I wasn't so sure.
Nothing had happened between us that night, he graciously walked me all the way back to my hotel room, it had been the early hours, we had been talking for a long time, and it had been really refreshing and nice...but I also didn't invite him in, and he didn't linger outside my hotel room waiting for me to ask him in either.
That's probably normal behaviour to some, to not drag a date back to fuck them...but because that didn't happen...it sort of made the whole thing seem too real...too...official.It scared me...maybe that's why I was reluctant to see him again...
But maybe I should just go, I had promised him that photo of me wearing the jeans he had designed to help his slow business out...
We'll see.Roger was still being funny with me, we'd not had a proper conversation since our argument, not that I hadn't tried, he just refused to cooperate...he's been going to Cockpit every night since...
He went last night...and so did I. Although I don't think he realised I was there too, he went a couple of hours before I did...but I saw him when I finally went in, though I didn't approach him, not that I didn't want him to stay with me all night once he knew I was there too...more because I wanted to see what he got up to.
I'd never known Roger go to a club on his own before, he was a social guy but struggled slightly being surrounded by absolute total strangers, I think that's why in situations like that, he always clings on to me as those kinds of environments didn't bother me...so I was interested to see just how he behaved.
Would he surprise me and be some kind of social swan? Go from person to person?
What exactly is he here for? To pull a guy and get laid? Just to drink away his sorrows and get blindly drunk? To see what it was like because I had been doing it for so long? What were his excuses for acting like this? It's not like he had just had his heart ripped out of his fucking rib cage...his life was going alright.
