Chapter 48

~Sky POV~

I was laying on the roof all that day, looking up at the sky until I heard the door open. I look and seen it, it was Maggie. "Hey?"

"Rick said its your turn to keep watch with Becca" she said, I nod my head "ok, I be down in a second" she walk closer to me, "is everything ok?"

"Yeah, just been thinking"

"About?"

"All of this, I mean if this didn't happen you never meet Glenn, Becca never meet Daryl-"

"And you never meet Merle" I look at her, "nothing going on between me and Merle, we are only fuck buddy's"

"It start out that way, look at me and Glenn"

"But everyone knew you two be together, the way you act around him and how he looks after you"

"Same way with Merle, the other night. I seen him and Daryl checking on you and Becca"

"Maybe Daryl made him"

"I thought so to until-" she was cut off by someone clearing their throat, we look it was Merle. "What you two lady's talkin about?" He asked, "nothing, Maggie said its my turn to stand watch with Becca" I said as Maggie help me up, "ok" he gave us a look and walk away.

Maggie and I walk down, I seen Becca. "Ready to take watch?" I asked her, "Merle asked if me and switch, I watch with Daryl as you watch with-"

"Merle" I said and nod, "how come you agree to watch with him?"

"Because he don't do look out"

I pat her on her shoulder, "that means, you have to do extra chores."

"Really?"

"Ask Rick" I said and walk outside to watch for a while, Merle was on the bridge looking, and I was on the ground with a sniper.

We walk in when the sun was about to set, Rick told someone to go watch. I went to lay down in my cell, Merle walk in "so I'm guessing no round two today?" He gave a pouting look. "Nope, we got stuck on watch maybe another day" he smirk and walk away, I lay there and notice I got sunburn. "Shit" I said sitting up, "what wrong?" Becca asked as she walk in with the baby. "I got sunburn" I said as she sit down, "ouch" was all she say, "deep down your laughing, are you?"

"Yes" I gave her a look, she hand me the baby. I smiled, she look at me and started to smile and giggle. We look at the door and Carl was there, "hey buddy, you want your sister back?" He just look at us, and sit in between us. I hand him, his sister. She giggle at him, "you think I be a good big brother?" I smiled, "of course" I said, he look at Becca. "How your dad doing?" I asked, "he....he half himself and then not"

"He come around, he just.....he just stay on pause for a second" he look at me, "stay pause?"

"Like I was, but I unpause and look"

"No dead head on your side, and no teeth in your hair"

"Yeap, and I'm not chasing the dead down" he look at his sister, "I hope he come out of it soon, for her" I put my hand on his shoulder. "Who turn to keep watch tonight?"

"Mine" he said, "how about I take over for you and all you have to do is be with your sister" he smiled at me, "thanks Sky" I got up, "your welcome" he got up and walk away. Becca look at me, "what? The night dew will cool off the sunburn" I walk out with the sniper again and watch once more.
