Monday morning...
My alarm rings endlessly. After it goes off for another two minutes I finally get up and turn it off. I quickly get changed into a simple outfit and grab my backpack and head downstairs to my kitchen. I peak through our parents bedroom door and see that neither of them are there. I'm hit with a rush of disappointment, but honestly I'm not surprised.
Both our parents have quite demanding jobs. Our dad is a scientist, this means he travels a lot, luckily me and my siblings don't go with him. As for our mom she's a lawyer and a very good one I might add, so she herself travels a lot for clients. That leaves me to look after all my younger siblings considering I'm the oldest.
After pouring five bowls of cereal I head upstairs to wake up my siblings. They hush me and complain but after a few minutes they're all at the table eating breakfast, I join them to have something to eat also.
"Where's mommy and daddy?" My youngest sister Selena asked.
"I think they're working" I reply instantly regretting it. Both Selena and her twin brother Spencer protest our parents working so much. I see disappointment swipe over all their faces.
"What else is new. All they do is work" Jenny added rolling her eyes.
"I know Jen. I'll try get a hold of them after school today and talk to them about coming home for a while" I say to my siblings.
"You'd really do that?" Spencer asked beginning to get all excited.
"Of course. Now come on and get ready before we're late for school" I reply gesturing for my siblings to go upstairs.
"Thank you Elizabeth" Lewis says as he hugs me. I bend down and kiss him on the cheek.
I quickly clean up the kitchen and rush my siblings out the door. After a long journey dropping my siblings off at school I finally reach my high school. I sigh thinking about spending the day here, but thankfully I only have a year left.
Liberty high school, my literal hell. I mean it's not like I'm tortured by other students here it's just I'm definitely under the radar but I like it that way. I have amazing grades which annoys people at my school. I want to leave this small town and to be able to leave I need good grades, I'm willing to do whatever it takes.
Liberty Hills the small town I've lived in my entire life. A small population of around 3000 people, it became boring never seeing what was outside of these horrible walls built around the town.
Time flew by and it was lunch time already. I grabbed lunch and sat with my best friend Max. We just had a general conversation, I complained about our parents and she graciously listened to me.
*ring*
I glanced down at my phone to see Lewis's school calling me.
"Hello is this Elizabeth Smith?"
"Yes speaking, is everything okay?" I questioned.
"I'm afraid your brother has had an accident, he'll need to be taken home. He told us to call you considering his parents wouldn't answer"
"Okay, I'm on my way. Could you call my other two siblings to the office with him please"
"Indeed we will"
I hung up and rolled my eyes. Max insisted I shouldn't leave but my siblings meant the world to me. I quickly texted Jenny since she attended a different school than my other siblings.
Hey Jen I'm on my way to pick you up. Lewis needs to be taken home so I figured we'd all just go home, it'll make my life much easier
I'm not complaining🤪 I'll meet you out front
