Saturday morning...
"I can't figure this out unless you tell me everything Mathew and not the same lies as Frank, I want the actual truth, no correction I need the actual truth" I said.
"Six years ago myself, your dad, Frank and your dad's research partner Alfie were tasked with a new project. We were to create a disease that could wipe out any army but along with the disease a cure to ensure our own people didn't die. The government promised that should we be successful we'd be given all the money we could ever need. Your dad was desperate to complete the project, he knew that you wanted to attend Yale and that would not be cheap. We each had our reasons and his happened to be you and your siblings. After a few years and numerous disease test we finally created the final prototype, the one that happened to be released in Liberty Hills. The government were overjoyed and we began work on the cure straight after. But no matter how many times we tried we couldn't do it. So your dad started putting you through science courses at school, he knew how smart you were and figured if he couldn't do it, you would. The government became impatient with us and we were informed that they'd be releasing the disease somewhere to test it out. When your dad heard that he instantly build the tunnel fearing that it would be Liberty Hills. But he knew if he suddenly moved your entire family it would draw attention and cause you all to be killed, considering the government were desperate to keep all of this a secret, hence the reason they let it out in Liberty Hills, because they wanted to kill everyone who created it. So he sacrificed himself for you all. The day before the outbreak your dad mixed all of our cure attempts together and it tested positive. Their was only enough for four people and that four was the ones who worked on the project. Since Alfie nor your dad took the cure their still must be two out there somewhere"
"But how does my mom tie in with it all?"
"She done all the legal work. Making sure that when the disease came out it couldn't be traced back to us or the government"
"So how come Frank and yourself took the cure but my dad and Alfie refused"
"Alfie wished to die at the hands of the project, he felt guilty. As for your dad he didn't take it because he didn't feel it was fair to let your mom die alone because of him"
"How come I never met Frank then? You were all working together for years and I had no clue"
"Frank didn't want anyone to know he lived in Liberty Hills, I don't know why but that's just the way he was"
"So how come Frank wants the paperwork so bad?"
"Despite never meeting you, Frank knew a lot about you because your dad spoke so highly of you. We all agreed that if this project should take a turn for the worst you'd be the next person we'd trust the most. So Frank knew that your dad would give you everything. He's working with the government again to steal all the paperwork to try and clean up the mess we've made by letting everyone in Liberty Hills die"
"Jesus Christ"
"I know this is a lot but you shouldn't feel responsible for any of this, I mean if you can't make a cure that isn't your fault it's ours"
"What if I told you I already had two solutions that could possibly be the cure"
"I'd be happy, it would mean that Charlotte could survive and you could use the other cure to help make enough for the whole town"
"Good thing I never go anywhere without this box anymore" I said taking it out of my backpack. Mathew instantly began looking in the box. He gently pulled out one of the needles in the box.
"This is it" Mathew said.
"Get in here Charlotte" I yelled.
Charlotte came running through. I could see in her eyes how scared she was, I mean no one really wants to die, they might say so or think so but deep down no one wants to die.
"If you want it this is for you" I said.
"What is it?" Charlotte questioned.
"It's the cure. Trust me when I say it works, I'm living proof of it. I'm 30 and technically should be dead, but thanks to that I'm not" Mathew said.
"I can't take that. There's only two and there are so many people more deserving than me" Charlotte replied.
"I will not take no for an answer. The kids need you Charlotte, if you were gone they'd have no one. But don't worry I'll make more, enough for the whole town" I said.
"Thank you Elizabeth" Charlotte said as she hugged me tightly. I smiled at her and we injected her with the cure.
"Attention everyone!" A voice yelled through the speaker phone.
"Oh please do not tell me that's Frank" I said pissed off.
"That it would be" Mathew replied rolling his eyes.
"I have good news" Frank continued.
