The Mask

Friday night...

"You can't hide from me forever Elizabeth" Frank yelled.

I was exhausted but I kept running, I had no other choice. I hoped that he'd continue chasing me rather than going to the house where my siblings where hiding.

"Run as long as you like Elizabeth but Liberty Hills isn't a big town" Frank yelled again.

Back at Elizabeth's house...

"She's been gone hours" Liam said panicked. "What if she isn't coming back, what if the bad man got her"

"Hey Liam it's okay Elizabeth will be home soon" David replied.

"We don't know that! We're sitting ducks here waiting to be killed" Jenny yelled. Selena and Spencer began crying.

David hugged the two of them.

"You're scaring them Jenny" David stated.

"They should be scared we aren't safe without Elizabeth" Jenny replied.

"Wait here" David said as he ran out of the house. He went into is own house and grabbed his dad's gun. "He won't hurt us now" David added.

Another few hours pasted and Elizabeth still wasn't home.

"I'm so going to regret this later but everyone get in the car" David said.

"Where we going?" Jacob questioned.

"The high school. You guys will be safe there until I come back with Elizabeth. I need to go get her" David replied.

The kids all agreed this one time because they all wanted Elizabeth to be home. So David dropped them off and after realising Elizabeth wasn't in the hospital he ran into the woods looking for her.

Back in the woods...

I stopped running and sat down hiding in a tunnel. I was exhausted, I don't think I'll be able to run much longer.

*snap*

It was at that moment a branch snapped. That meant someone was close. I covered my mouth trying not to breathe heavily. Out of no where walked a man with some sort of mask on. He held his hand out to me and in fear that it was Frank I ran. But I didn't get far, my legs collapsed on me and the man approached me again.

"Stop Elizabeth I'm not here to hurt you" The man said.

"How do I know that?" I questioned.

"Because it's me you idiot" The man said as he removed his mask.

"Mathew?" I asked.

"Yes now lets go, he's getting close" He said. I grabbed his hand and he threw me over his shoulder and began running.

We continued running until we reached the main road. He stopped to catch his breath.

"Drop her asshole" Someone yelled.

"Kid it's okay I'm not going to hurt her" Mathew said.

"I said drop her" The person yelled again. Mathew placed me on the ground. "Now back away"

The person ran towards me. I sat up to realise it was David.

"Elizabeth thank god" He said as he hugged me, I wrapped my arms around him. It was at that moment I saw him still pointing a gun towards Mathew.

"No David it's okay we can trust him" I said.

"Are you sure?" David questioned.

"Yes I promise, Mathew this is David. David this is Mathew. He was my dad's best friend" I replied.
