Thursday morning...
Everyone went silent and turned to look at me.
"If being alive in our town is to work we all must work together, that means not being selfish and stealing all the resources for yourself. I've come to the conclusion that all the younger kids will stay in the high school for their safety, the worlds not safe for them anymore that they don't have their parents. So since they'll be living there I expect all the older kids to take turns looking after them. They should never be alone so I want all of you to figure that out right now. I'm putting Charlotte Tom in charge of the operation at the high school, she's the only teacher left so I expect everyone who is able to help her. As for the rest of us we'll be maintaining a some what regular life. Joey over here is going to be in charge of spreading out our resources equally, everyday you'll come to Ben's Butcher to collect daily resources. As for myself I'll be working closely with the government trying to reason with them to get us out of here. Now that you've been given your jobs go get it done" I said stepping down.
I quickly pulled Charlotte and Joey over to the side before others began questioning them on which jobs they should be delegated.
"Listen I'm sorry to give you both such a significant role without consulting you first but you're both the people I thought of first" I said. Before they could even protest the roles I ran over to David who had been yelling for me.
"Maria found her sister thankfully" He said sounding relieved.
"That's great but I'm afraid that was only the start of our problems" I replied.
"What do you mean?" David questioned.
I grabbed his arm and pulled him around the back of a store so no one could hear us. "People were right to be worried, I don't think the government is going to be sending food in but I need to confirm that with the guards. Should it be true we can't tell the town or they'll panic and try to escape only to be shot. So it's down to me and you to figure out a backup plan" I said.
"I'm beginning to think that the government aren't just going to allow disease ridden people simply back into the rest of the world" He replied clearly disappointed.
"Now you're on the right page" I replied.
"Can we come round or are you guys making out or something" Jenny yelled interrupting our conversation.
"Don't be stupid" I said annoyed as we walked out from the back of the store.
"It was a reasonable question" Jacob added.
"Shut up" David said as he gently smacked the back of Jacob's head. "Now go get in the car, we've got somewhere to be"
"If we had money I'd so bet on those two getting together within the next three weeks" Jenny whispered to Jacob.
"I have 20 bucks on the outside of town that says two weeks" Jacob whispered back.
"You're on" Jenny replied as they both giggled.
"You shouldn't bet on Elizabeth's love life you know" Liam said.
"Mommy said gambling was bad" Selena replied.
"It's not gambling Selena" Jenny said. "You'll understand one day"
"I have a dollar from the tooth fairy that says Elizabeth isn't that silly to fall in love with a someone" Spencer added.
"No you don't Spencer. Now catch me if you can" Liam said as he ran to the car. Jenny and Jacob ran behind them.
"Kids these days" David said rolling his eyes. I simply agreed with his statement as we ran to caught up my siblings.
We got in the car and started driving towards the exit of town.
