Lucas: After escaping the Penitentiary I'm wandering around, unsure of where I'm going at the moment. No plan for how I'm going to survive because my only priority is to save or warn Ava before Atlas gets to her. I'm still carrying the ax that I used against the Warden. Dried blood is covered all over the ax and myself, having had to deal with some guys that tried to kill me earlier. I honestly don't know who I am anymore. I've never hurt a person my whole life and now I'm killing people left and right. I guess this is what you need to do in order to survive. "If Ava plans on to kill the Commander...then she's probably going to New York. Jeez, that's a trip... How am I going to get there? How is she going to get there?" I sigh. "I need a damn map or something." As I'm walking and talking to myself my stomach starts to growl. "Great..." I stop walking in the middle of the road and look around for anything that looks like it would have food. I start to head into the Food Lion. "Don't know what this place is but there are shopping carts and cars everywhere. So...that should be good?" I walk inside still carrying the ax over my shoulder probably looking like a madman with all the blood on me. As I'm walking throughout the aisles I come across empty boxes, extremely spoiled food, and empty shelves. As I'm about to leave I walk out an aisle at the same time this woman does and I see her holding a can of beans. She sees me with my ax and forms a scared and worried look on her face. She takes off running. I sigh and grip onto my ax a little tighter "Please don't run..." I say out loud and start to speed walk in the way she went. After running around the whole store chasing her; playing Cat and mouse, she gets trapped in a corner.

Woman: "Please don't! I've been starving for days!" I yell out, tears rolling down my face.

Lucas: I silence her out and try not to think about it, try not to think about her. Without hesitation, I throw the ax at her and it lands right in her stomach. I walk up slowly and grab the beans from her hand then retrieve my ax; watching her slowly fall to the ground, holding her stomach. "I would kill you like the others...but I rather you just bleed out to death. If you survive then good for you. But I should get going...because it feels like I'm talking to myself. Soooo...toodles!" I say walking off without looking back at the poor woman. I walk out of the Food Lion and go off to the side of the store. I use my ax to open the can of beans and once it's open I start to eat up, not caring that they're kind of cold. A few minutes later, of eating the entire can of beans. I look down at the red thick blood still on the ax; I put my fingertips in the blood and start to put it over my face, like war paint. Once I'm done I stand back up and grab my ax. "Let's do this, Lucas," I say walking off back on to my original path.
