Do my ears deceive me? Why would he ask me out? I mean, I don't think it's bad that anyone would be interested in me, but why?
I've been standing infront my window for a solid ten minutes looking like a fish unable to give him an answer.

"I-I don't know...its all out of the blue for me." I had so much going on, goin on dates mean relationships and I don't think I could keep up with that. But trying it out wouldn't hurt, would it?

"Ah of course, what was I thinking. Of course she wouldn't go! I'm so stupid! Listen, Kira just forget about it." He just rambled on without pause, and turned to leave.

What just happened?

"Wait!" I call out to him. I fix my pony tail, and prop myself on the windowsill.

"Kira, what on earth are you doing?!"

I launch myself out the window, landing on the ground successfully. Constantly having to do that while fighting creatures not of this planet really pays off. "I didn't even give you a proper answer." I smile.

He looks at me like I've grown another head after that leap I just pulled. It was a little funny, I'll admit. "Well, I thought that you wouldn't..." He looks down a little and breathes out a nervous laugh.

"Stop overthinking then. I wasn't sure because it's all new to me. But what's the point of living if you don't try new things? I will take you up on your offer." This was slightly unlike the way I usually was, but I was getting good feelings about this.

He looked up at me with sparkling eyes, with a grin on his face. "Pick you up at 7 tomorrow?"

"Definitely, but where is it gonna be?" I ask. I don't want it to be in a disastrous location like last time, well it's not like we knew what was going to happen but still.

The minute I went inside I went into a frenzy.

"Kira? What's the matter?" Lena questions.

"Shaneaskedmeonadateandidon'tknowwhattodoorwearandIcantseemtofocusthisissonewformemaybeIshould'vesaidnoanywayitstomorrowandI'mfreakingout." I say all in one breath. Lena and Aleri just stare at me in silence with their mouths hanging open.

"Okay, let's take a deep breath and take it from the top." She pats my shoulder, still bewildered by my essay-in-one-breath ability I didn't even know I had.

"Shane asked me on a date and I don't know what to do or wear and I can't seem to focus, this is so new for me maybe I should've said no! Anyway it's tomorrow and I'm freaking out!" I tell her.

"Again, take a deep breath it's not the end of the world, you'll be fine." She reassures me.

"Now come on, I'll help you choose an outfit."

"Its cute, but I'm not really vibing with the skirt." I rush into my closet to pull out a pair of black skinny jeans to go with the white loose shirt I was wearing. It was completed with a few false diamond bangles and my favourite pair of white flats.

I'd change my earrings, but they are a huge part of my being now it would be weird to be without them.

"Can you believe it? You're finally going on your very first date! Your parents would be so proud!" She squeals. They've been doing well in their cases, well I wouldn't really know, I can't feel what they do. I just hope they are no longer in pain.

"Well now that everything is sorted, why don't we go downstairs for dinner?" Lena leaves the room as Aleri follows behind her.
I stay back a bit admiring the outfit I chose until I hear my name being called again.
