Looking through the crowds of cheering faces, I wave to all.

We've just come back from making peace with the Ephedians, the army of  bandits that came from Nebularis and pillaged Ephedia are now obliterated.

The crowd was whistling and hollering, and it was a great welcome back home. It was especially wonderful that now my people would never have anything to worry about from now on.

The soldiers and I made our way into the castle, and continued the plans we had come up with for the banquet we'd throw for the people. We wanted to make sure everyone had enough to eat and a place to sit.

"I don't want to do it." One of my friends, Hisose was complaining about who knows what.

"Well someone has to! How is this supposed to work out if none of the kingdom knows it's happening at all?" My other friend, Gyreto says not so quietly. For grown men, they are rather childish.

"What is the matter children?" I jest. They both look at me with annoyance.

"Damien, someone has to tell the people about the banquet but this--orange babbon is too lazy!"

I let out a laugh and shook my head. I leaned on the table that was in the meeting room. "Fine, I'll do it. I'll have to go see my mother first."

I walk out the meeting room to be greeted by my guardian, Lenaria. "You look well today."

"Thank you your majesty. I feel alot better after eating that spoiled cheese on moonday."

I chuckled, it was quite the funny predicament actually, she was so hungry that she plowed through everything we had on the dinner table and immediately regretted it after taking four bites out of cheese that had been left outside for a little too long.

"Where are you headed to prince Damien?"

"I'm going to see my mom."  I always make time throughout the day to see her, she doesn't have a whole lot of time left and I want to make every moment with her the best.

"Damien, Damien, Damien--Oh Damien! You're almost twenty years old, haven't you thought of getting married?" She looks at me where I'm sitting on the side of the bed.

"Mother, I told you that I'm not ready for that stuff." I stroke her hair speaking softly. She's be on my case about me finding a wife, all the suitors she and father had brought up never peaked my interest. They girls were nice and all, but just not for me.

"Oh here we go with the 'I'm not ready's'. I was never ready when I married your father. But he was a good man and appreciated me and I--" She coughed, "Fell deeper in love with him every day. Just give it a chance."

"Alright fine I'll try." Sighing in defeat, I realize that this back and forth every day isn't going to help anyone.

"Before I die I just want to see you happy. I unfortunately won't live long enough to see my granddaughter so I just want to see your future wife."

"Granddaughter? How do you know the child is going to be a girl?" I chortle.

"By Astreaus I know it will be. I can feel it."

I make my way outside to the front door of the burgundy tinted castle. Many of the crowd was still there and begun cheering once again. I called them to attention, announcing the date of the banquet that would be on the day of Saturn.

They cheered once again, dispersing to tell others soon after. I spun on my heels to leave when a bright colour caught my eye.

Pink. Ombre pink.

The long braided hair belonged to a young lady, with bright green eyes. She was slim, had creamy chocolate skin, and a lovely smile that adorned her rosy cheeks.

I was drawn to her; moth to flame. She was helping an old man carry his things to his home. A hairpin fell out her hair and she didn't notice. I picked it up and went after her.

"E-excuse me, my lady, but you dropped this." she turned around and looked directly into my brown eyes with her green ones. I was completely stunned by her beauty.

"Thank you so much! I'd never be able to sleep losing it." She gratefully smiled, tearing my heart into peices.

"You're very welcome. May I ask what your name is?"

"Sonia, of Volta." She bowed, but I assured her that it wasn't necessary.

"What brings a Voltan to our kingdom of Nebularis?"

"I live here with my uncle. He's old." She Whispers the last part and I smile. She's too adorable.

"Will you be coming to the celebration...?" I expectantly asked.

"Yes actually...it might sound silly but I'm hoping to find my soul mate there...my own star. I'm sorry it's cheesy."

"That's far from cheesy. I have a funny story to tell you." She giggles and I decide to help her carry her uncles things inside their small home.

Mother, I think I've found her...
