     Skinny Love.

Two people who share the same strong feelings for one another but are too shy to show it.

Why did you always manage to show up at Emma's on the days you knew she was recording with the twins? For the same reason, you would show up at James when they were over. For the soul purpose of seeing Grayson.

There once was a time when you knew the feelings you had for him were reciprocated. But now, now he had her on his arm. She was an angel in every form of the word. Her skin was sun-kissed, her hair was always flawless and bounced perfectly, her body was sculpted by the Gods, and he loved her. But who wouldn't?

You were greeted by Emma, who was in the middle of what was probably her third coffee by 2 o'clock. She gave you a welcoming side hug and stepped aside to let you in. You had made plans to hang out and go thrifting after she was done. You said hi to everyone, even Grayson who was sitting on the couch by Ethan. Where was she?

You sat in the egg chair that Emma had, hung up in the corner of her apartment. Maybe today was actually going to be half decent. That was until you heard a knock at the door. Grayson's face lit up, as he darted towards it. Behind it was the Goddess herself, with two trays of iced coffee. "Hey, guys. Sorry, I'm late. The traffic was terrible. But I come bearing gifts." She says in a voice as sweet as honey. Emma greeted her as she had greeted you, helping her bring the trays to the coffee table. You sat in silence, watching them. Graysons hand rubbed small circles on her delicate hips, and you wanted to go home. Why did you keep doing this to yourself?

"Oh, y/n I didn't know you were coming..."She says, looking down at the empty trays. "I can run and grab another coffee if you want." She offers sweetly. You smiled and kindly and shook your head, letting her know it wasn't necessary. Emma glanced toward you and motioned you to the kitchen. You excuse yourself and follow her into the small room.

"Okay, why do you look so blue? And I know it's not because you're coffee-less." She says, sipping her own through the clear straw.

"She's literal perfection." You say at almost a whisper in case any of them were listening in from the other room.  Emma was the only one, aside from your friends back home that ever knew about your crush on Grayson.

"Who? Grayson girlfriend?" You nod, wanting to cry at the very thought of them still being together. "She has nothing on you. Yeah, she's pretty, but she doesn't have what you have." Emma says in her hoarse voice.

"No, she has what I want. Him." You say, looking into the living room where they were laughing happily.

"Well, maybe this wouldn't have happened if you'd just tell him how you feel. Who knows, maybe he feels the same way?" She suggests and you laugh, shaking your head.

"Nope. He's hit the jackpot." You say when little Miss Perfect comes flaunting into the room, filling it with her gorgeous scent of vanilla.

"James said for me to tell you that they're ready to start." She speaks almost soothingly, looking at Emma. Emma nodded, winked at you and left the two of you alone. "I guess it's just us." She says after a moment of awkward silence. You smiled and nodded.
