(you're POV)

You always knew Ethan was different from other guys you'd met before. Hell, you'd only known him for a little over a year and it felt like you'd been close friends since the potty training years. Could it be love? Here are 10 different ways to tell:

1.) WHEN YOUR HAND AUTOMATICALLY REACHES FOR THEIRS.

You were supposed to be going to a Halloween party, but the twins decided dressing up and hanging around a bunch of drunks wouldn't be fun and made different plans. They wanted to go to a haunted house, and not a fake one either. No, Ethan found a haunted hotel online that was about 2-3 hours away from where you all lived. You were never a fan of scary stuff, but they managed to persuade you into going with them and the other two members of the infamous sister squad. The car ride was fun up until the GPS announced your arrival, then your heart began to beat so fast you were scared it would leap out of your chest and onto the floorboards of the Jeep.

There was no one around which made you even more nervous since there would be no witnesses to call the police if the five of you never came back out. Grayson held the chain gate open enough for everyone to squeeze through and then himself. "The doors are bolted shut, let's just go back," Emma says once the group reached the front. Ethan ignored what she had said and walked around until he found a broken window. "Come on, I think we'll all be able to fit through," Grayson says, examining the opening. James crawled through first, then Emma, with the help of the twins of course since the window was almost five feet off the ground. "I don't know...maybe I'll just wait in the car." You whisper, hoping they'd give you the keys. But no, Ethan just gave you a reassuring look before both boys hoisted you upward, allowing you to wiggle through the opening and join the others.

The hotel was even creepier on the inside. It was dark, there was a thick musty smell in every area, half the windows were shattered to pieces, spiders had claimed each and every corner and you swear at one point you hear footsteps that didn't belong to any of you. James took the lead, Grayson trailed behind him, Emma in tow, then Ethan and then you at the back, debating on darting back to the car until they had their fun. "Guys look, I think I found the basement," Emma shouts, pointing at a dark stairway near the dining area. "Let's go," Graysons says excitedly, turning on the flashlight on his phone. Ethan was halfway down the stairs, leaving you up top all alone. It didn't take long before you darted after him, grabbing his hand in the process the darker it got. He didn't pull away either, he just squeezed it sightly, letting you know you were safe from harm as long as he was there.

2.) WHEN YOU'RE IN A CROWDED PLACE AND THEIR PRESENCE MAKES IT COMFORTABLE.

You were far from being a party girl or anything even close to the definition, but you loved James and agreed to go to his launch party. He knew big crowds made you anxious so he asked that you at least stay for a little bit.

Dressed in an all-white tank top with white ripped jeans you drove to the event. There were cars tightly parked around the venue making it hard for you to breath already and you hadn't even left your vehicle yet. You pushed yourself toward the entrance and once inside you realized how many people were actually there. That's when your nerves started to twitch. Trying to find a familiar face was difficult until you saw James walking around, wearing a proud smile. "James!" You shout, scurrying toward him. "Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you could make it, how long have you been here?" He asks, embracing you in a welcoming hug. "I'm glad I could be here for you and I just got here." You say, clasping your hands together like you usually did when you were nervous. "Okay well, the food is over there. I have to go make sure the mics and everything are working smoothly, but you're more than welcome to grab something to eat or drink and wait on one of the couches." He explains before strutting off elsewhere.
