Everyone knows that Ethan is a simple man and doesn't really like to wear flashy things and your promise ring was no exception. He loved you and planned on marrying you one day, there was no doubt. But when he was shopping for the ring he didn't know what would look nice in your eyes. He was originally only going to get you one, but instead decided that matching ones would be more romantic. After several hours of searching, he finally decided on two plain silver bands. After purchasing them, he took them to another place to get "I love him" engraved on yours and "I love her" engraved on his. He even went as far as getting your names engraved on the inside of each others. He was nervous that you wouldn't like it, but you loved it. You didn't care what they looked like, just knowing that Ethan wanted you and only you for the rest of his life was good enough.

He actually gave you a promise ring ages ago, but it was cheap one he'd gotten out a quarter machine. You loved it though, it was an aluminum silver band with a plastic pink heart on it, that you wore on a necklace. He knew you loved your special ring, but he felt like he needed to get you one that was more stable, one that wouldn't break easily. So he searched and searched online for the perfect matching ring sets. That's when he came across the silver bands which both held half a heart and a small engravement that said "real love". He knew they were perfect and specially ordered them to come in the next day. Upon arrival he had re-proposed the promising idea, only making you smile bigger. Although you had a new ring, you still wore the original proudly on your neck. He was yours and only yours forever.
