Chocoholic... a healthy love story

Chapter 7

Kal couldn't believe that Isabella just walked away from him. He followed her to her office and saw her packing her things. He stood there in the doorway and looked at her as she was talking to herself and he noticed that she had been crying.

" What do you think you are doing?", Kal asked and his presence startled Isabella.

She looked at him as she put her bag over her shoulder.

" What does it look like? I'm leaving your company!", Isabella said standing near her desk.

" Well , if that's how you fight your  battles by running away then feel free", Kal said mockingly and that made Isabella more upset.

" I'm sorry Mr. Dukas, but you are the rudest person I've come across in my life and I can't stand a single minute looking at someone like you! You think because you have money and all of this that makes you more superior, well enjoy your richness and carry on with your arrogance!", Isabella said as she walked towards the door.

Kal was taken aback by her words, no one had ever dared to speak to him like that before.
He smiled as he looked at her approaching him, he stopped her and said ,
" You are forgetting something, that T-shirt is the property of "Passion and Chocolates" so you cannot leave without leaving this here!", Kal said and he wanted to smile as he couldn't wait to see  her reaction but he kept a serious face.

Isabella looked at Kal she couldn't believe that he asked her to leave the T-shirt and now what would she do? She remembered that she had put a T-shirt for her class this afternoon in her bag and without thinking she walked back to her desk and took the T-shirt out from her bag. She pulled the T-shirt off her and Kal was shocked to see her do that! He couldn't believe that Isabella was standing there with her bare back to him and she was getting changed in front of him. He looked at the tattoo on her back, it looked like a sun or a dream catcher but he couldn't see it properly as she had put on another T-shirt.

" There you go! Your T-shirt Sir!", Isabella said sarcastically walking towards him and handing him the T-shirt .

" Well you didn't take it from me! Take it back to the reception!", Kal said as he heard his name being called .

He looked behind him and saw  a lady calling his name. She pointed towards the conference room and her watch.He turned away without giving Isabella a last glance he walked towards the conference room with a smile on his face.

" That fool! He keeps treating me like an idiot! Maybe you should show him you are not an idiot! So don't run away! And you need the money!", Isabella said to herself. She couldn't believe she had gotten changed in front of her boss ! Not any boss but the handsome Kal Dukas.

She sat down at her desk and she remembered the scene from earlier. She guessed that the young lady was his girlfriend since she was all over him.
She didn't look at the picture of the model last night when Emma mentioned her name some Heidi, Isabella thought. She got up and hurried to get changed back in her uniform , she fixed her hair and took her laptop and diary and walked towards the conference room.

She opened the door slowly and when she walked in Kal stopped talking and looked at her.
Isabella waited for his insults but he didn't say anything as he carried on speaking. Isabella sat down on the chair close to the entrance and opened her laptop and looked at everyone in the room . She noticed that Adrian was looking at her and he smiled at her . She smiled back and then focused on Kal and what he was saying .

Kal noticed that Adrian was staring at Isabella and they were smiling at each other and that made him angry. He was tired of telling his brother to be more serious about the company and don't let distractions like Isabella get in his way. He was there in the meeting talking about their new campaign but his brother was busy staring at Isabella. He noticed how Adrian stared at her , he was not paying any attention to the meeting since she had walked in. Kal looked at Isabella, she was busy typing notes and she lifted her face and looked at him. Their gaze were locked for a few seconds and then she looked away.

" So Adrian, what new ideas have your department come up with?", Kal said bringing Adrian back to the meeting.

" Well, we were thinking about making the boxes more attractive. Specially for woman since they love sparkly glittery boxes why not we  ...", Adrian was saying when Kal interrupted him.

" Glittery boxes! Is that what you guys came up with!?", Kal asked with an annoying tone.

" Yes Kal why not? Specially if we shall be releasing it around Christmas time it will be perfect!", one of the directors from marketing said.

" Yes , Christmas is all about decorations, glitters and ..", another sales person added.

" What are we going to put in those boxes then? Did you think about that?", Kal asked looking at everyone and they were all quiet.

" Kal , we can design the chocolates into Christmas gifts or ornaments and it would look like a Christmas present!", Adrian said and everyone agreed with him.

" The idea is not bad but we need something that will make it more attractive, something that will make people want to buy the chocolates!", Kal said as he glanced around the room and everyone looked at each other.

All this time Isabella had been listening to the debate that was going on, she read her notes again and she realized something that they all been missing the most important part of Christmas, " Love", she said quietly.

" What did you say Miss García?", she heard Kal asked her as he stared at her.

She looked at him and said nothing since she was not an important member of that meeting, she was only there to take notes.

" I heard you say something maybe you should share what you were thinking", Kal said to her leaning back in his seat.

Everyone in the room was staring at her and she felt her face heating up.
She looked at Kal who was waiting for her to speak.

Why not? What if he laughs or everyone laughs?, Isabella said to herself as she swallowed the lump in her throat.

" I was thinking that Christmas is also about love , so putting tiny love messages in the chocolates could make it more special.. I would personally look forward for that ..opening the chocolates and reading a lovely love quotes or Christmas quote , family quotes or an inspirational quotes ... sometimes one just need a positive word to make their day", Isabella said excitedly and everyone looked at her and then they started talking all together.

Kal put his hands up to silence the room and he looked at Isabella who wiped the smile off her face.

" Well well not a bad idea Miss. Garcia but..", Kal was saying when Adrian interrupted him.

" Maybe we should give it a try and see , I really like her idea!", Adrian said and the other members agreed as well.

Isabella bit on her bottom lip as she looked at Adrian and then smiled at him, she was glad that he stopped Kal from saying whatever he was going to say which probably would have made her sad or upset.
She liked Adrian , he was more down to earth than Kal  and wished she was working with him instead. As she looked at Kal he was staring at her with those piercing eyes and he didn't look happy.

Great ! He asked me to speak up now he is upset!! What can I possibly do to make this guy like me a little bit! After all I work here , he needs to get use to it, cause I'm not going anywhere unless he fires me!, Isabella thought as she looked away from him and at the laptop screen.

" Well, if the marketing department thinks that it's a great idea. Then get to work people!", Kal said standing up and walked towards the exit door . He paused when he walked passed Isabella and looked at her , she bent her head and looked at her laptop.
She felt this urge of walking after him and apologized for her behavior from earlier but she remained glued to the chair .

As Kal walked to his office he turned and looked at the conference room , he saw Adrian talking to Isabella and she was laughing at whatever he was saying. He was upset to see them like that, close to each other laughing and he couldn't understand why.

" Why should I bother myself , if Adrian wants to take her to his bed then he can do so.." , Kal said as he walked in his office and took out his phone and called Heidi.
