Chocoholic... a healthy love story

Chapter 18

Isabella took in a deep breath as she got out of the  taxi. She had called Mrs. Cora but she couldn't gather the strength to tell that woman that she would not be able to attend the meeting in her place.
She had simply confirmed that she will go to the meeting as soon as Mrs. Cora had said hello on the other side of the line, she had hung up the phone with a heavy heart.

She walked up to the house and rang the door bell, the door was opened by a different maid and she walked in after she told her that she was there for the meeting.She noticed Leidi walking out of the sitting room with some wine bottles.
The maid showed her to the terrace were everyone where standing and chatting.
She spotted the Directors from the production section , people from marketing and some other staffs.

" What are you doing here?!", someone asked behind her and she stood still as his voice sent chills down her spine!

She slowly turned around putting on a serious face as she looked at him,
" Mrs. Cora is sick and asked me to attend the meeting in her place", Isabella replied in a serious tone.

" Then you go back inside and wait for us in the sitting room as here it's only for the head of departments", Kal said to her in a serious tone as well.
Isabella looked at him but didn't say anything as she just turned and looked towards the small crowd of people and noticed Heidi was there as well.
Kal noticed she was staring at Heidi and said ,

" Well this is my house and she is my girlfriend so she had every right to greet my guests!", Kal said close to her ear.

Isabella noticed how he emphasized on the word girlfriend. She was getting upset by his words that she preferred to just walked back inside the house.
As she walked in she nearly bumped into Adrian who was talking to a young lady, she looked like the same one she saw him with at the Fashion show.

" Hey Isa.. I mean Miss. Garcia! You came with Mrs. Cora?", Adrian asked as his companion stared at her from head to toe.

" Good evening Sir, Mrs. Cora is sick so I have to attend the meeting in her place", Isabella replied.

Then she excused herself before he could say anything else as she walked in the sitting room and sat down on the sofa.Another lady came in with a laptop and told her she had to take the notes on there as she also indicated to her where she should sit.After ten minutes of being by herself in the sitting room , she saw Kal coming in with Heidi and the other young woman.

Heidi spotted her and instantly grabbed Kal' shirt and pulled him closer as she kissed him on the lips and then she whispered something in his ears which Kal smiled . Isabella looked at them and then fixed her eyes back on the empty page that she had opened for notes taking.Heidi and her friend said goodbye to Kal as they walked to the front door.
Kal looked at Isabella and noticed she didn't raised her head to look at him .

Heidi was a nervous wreck around Isabella and he had noticed that since the first time the two women met, that's why she kissed him in front of her like she was marking her territory.She had asked him , why he had a pretty girl working in his department and Kal had  told her  that Isabella wasn't pretty and was never attracted to her types.

He saw Adrian talking to her and he knew that he would want to take her home when the meeting was done, and he wouldn't allow that .He walked back towards his guest and invited them inside for the meeting.Two large bowls of different chocolate wrapped up in colorful papers were placed on the table close to Isabella.

" Wow! At least something interesting!", Isabella said to herself smiling as she looked at the massive bowls of chocolates.

Isabella looked away from the bowls and looked up and noticed Kal was staring at her, she quickly wiped the smile from her face as she looked back on the laptop screen.The meeting started and Kal welcome everyone.

" We are gathered because I got some great news and bad news. The great news is that we managed to get ourselves on the cover of the " Food and travel magazine! Their special edition about chocolates in Greece! So next week the representatives will be coming to the office for a tour and to taste some of our best chocolates!", Kal said happily and everyone clapped .

Even Isabella was happy to hear that news , she looked around the room and saw all the happy faces except one, Adrian's!He was clapping his hands as well but he looked annoyed at the same time and Isabella found it weird.As everyone stopped clapping Kal started to speak again.

" Now the bad news! Our new project, the Christmas chocolate wrapping with notes and all ... we need to find a more original idea than that .. it seems that another company will be doing almost the same thing for Christmas!", Kal said and everyone looked at each other and started to talk at the same time.

" What do you mean by doing almost the same thing?", a lady questioned Kal and Isabella looked towards him.

" Well , I don't know if maybe our idea was shared outside the company!", Kal said seriously looking around the room and everyone were silent for a moment and then the chattering started again.

" Guys , I am not hundred percent sure if that's the case but I know for a fact they are using the same concept as us and will even release it before us!Maybe some people like to share too much info!", Kal said looking around the room and then his eyes laid on her.

Isabella looked at Kal as his silver eyes looked at her as if they were saying she was the guilty one,

Oh No! He better not! I'll forget if we are in a meeting! No body accuses me for something I didn't do!!, Isabella said to herself as she looked at him angrily , she took in a deep breath and got back to what she was doing. She would find a time after the meeting to sort Kal out.

He probably thinks I boasted myself around because I gave the idea!, Isabella thought.

" Come on Kal! Not because it wasn't your big idea you have to accuse the other workers!", Adrian said sarcastically and everyone looked at him, they were   surprised  to hear the way he had spoken to his brother!

Kal looked at Adrian , he knew Adrian was upset because he got the interview with the " Food and travel" magazine and even got the company featured in the magazine on the front page which made their father so proud of him and Adrian didn't like that one bit.

Kal didn't reply to his brother's comment. Instead he just smiled and carried on talking about the project and how to twist things around a bit.

"So you all have until Monday to come up with something! First thing in the morning unless anyone wants to share any other ideas  with us today !", Kal said sternly as everyone nodded yes.

Adrian got up and walked out of the room, Kal only looked at him and didn't say anything.
He was so use to Adrian's attitude. He always wanted him to be the center of attention. If he wanted a toy and didn't get it he will blame Kal.
He was so upset that their father chose Kal over him.
He always wondered if Adrian wanted everything he wanted? As he thought of that his eyes fell on a pair of green eyes looking at him.

She quickly looked back at the screen and he sat down listening to what was being said but every now and then he looked at Isabella who was busy typing what was being said in the meeting.
The meeting ended and Isabella liked the idea of the twelve days of Christmas Chocolate surprises! It will combined together with her idea making it twelve days of Christmas positive thoughts and love all around.

The chocolates were distributed amongst the guests for their families as part of the chocolate tasting.
Everyone had left the room and Isabella was all by herself once more.She looked around the room and then got up and grabbed some of the chocolates from the bowl. She removed the silvery wrapping and put the chocolate in her mouth.

" Oh my ! The taste !!", Isabella said quietly.

" It tasted exactly like a candy cane but it's a chocolate! Oh my!!", She said as she grabbed another one and ate it then followed by another one.
She remembered the story back home about chocolate being an aphrodisiac and she stopped eating after her fifth one.

" This is surely not a house for any aphrodisiac!", Isabella said and laughed softly.

"Do you believe in that?!", Kal asked as he walked back inside the sitting room.
