Chocoholic... a healthy love story

Chapter 19

Isabella was taken aback she wondered how loud she had said that for Kal to hear.
She was filled with embarrassment when she remembered her words, she looked at Kal who was standing in front of her with a smirk on his face.

" Do I believe in what Sir?", she asked softly.

" In what you just said about chocolates being an aphrodisiac?", Kal asked her the question again.

She swallowed before answering him,

" Uh.. You see this was a myth back home , I don't believe in those things", she said looking away from Kal and looking straight at the laptop in front of her.

Adrian walked in the room just as Kal was about to say something.Isabella looked at the two brothers and could feel an air of tension between them.
She excused herself but before she left Kal told her to wait for him in his study.She looked at the time and it was getting really late, but she had to obey her boss and went to his office.

" What was all this about? The attitude, leaving the meeting like that?", Kal asked Adrian as he sat down on the sofa crossing his arms and looking at his brother.

" I just felt you were being self centered.It was Isabella's idea and you are just trying to find a way to make it yours Kal", Adrian answered angrily.

" Is that really the issue here Adrian?! You heard correctly what I said.Someone told me that our idea was taken by another company.We have to change it making it different and this time if there is a mole around us we will know! I noted everyone who were present tonight!", Kal said looking at his brother .

" Well I don't have any other issue but I just don't like the way ... you think this company is yours only", Adrian answered as he took out a cigarette.

Kal didn't like anyone smoking in his house but he didn't want to have an argument with his brother over a cigarette issue now.

" Adrian everything I do for the company it's for the benefit of the family..Not mine! When the old man is better he will be back in the company and I will leave for Spain", Kal said getting up from the sofa.

Isabella who had walked out to the kitchen to get a glass of water overheard this part of the conversation on her way back to the office , she couldn't help it but stood there quietly in a corner and out of view to listen.

He is leaving when his dad gets better, Isabella said putting a hand over her mouth.

She felt her heart was breaking even if she knew she shouldn't be feeling like that but she couldn't help it.
Sometimes the heart has a mind of its own.
She took a sip of her water and listened in to the conversation.

" You leave ?! I doubt that .. and the old man.. you didn't hear what mother said regarding what the Doctor told her today?Father will not be able to go back to the company for a long time so are you willing to stay or you will  speak to him regarding letting me take over the company?", Adrian asked as he looked at Kal with a serious face.

Kal knew that Adrian was upset because he was the head of the company and he was getting all the attention from the media as being a young businessman who was making his family proud by taking care of his family businesses , making profits after profits, bringing much success to his family's name in the business world!

He still managed the company back in Spain but he had a right-hand man which he trusted completely who was taking care of the company whilst he was back in Greece.

" Adrian , I cannot go against father's words!", Kal replied and he noticed how his brother's face turned from calm to angry.

He didn't want to argue with him tonight, if he had anything to say he should go and talk to their parents!

Isabella slowly walked away and back into the office.

" Adrian is upset because his brother is in charge of the company and he wasn't? But how could he , if he is doing a good job then he should respect his older brother", Isabella quietly said.

She sat down on the sofa and drank her water slowly thinking about the Dukas's brothers.

" Adrian I'm tired . I have some work to finish please if you don't mind I don't want to argue or have a fight with you! I'm your bother and I think you should accept dad's decision!", Kal said as he walked away from the sitting room.

Adrian followed him out onto the terrace,
" Anyways Kal , I apologize for my behavior tonight. I will surely talk with dad when he is more relaxed", Adrian said .

" I will take Miss Garcia home. It's getting late", Adrian said walking back inside.

" I still need her to do some work for me, I will call her a cab later", Kal said to Adrian as he followed him inside.

Adrian turned and looked at Kal, " don't you think you are overdoing it with Isabella ?", Adrian asked staring at him weirdly.

" What do you mean by that?!", Kal asked .

" You are rude to her, you make her work extra time , don't you think you should calm down a bit?", Adrian said and Kal remained quiet.

Adrian walked out of the front door and Kal watched him as he drove out of his driveway.He was the last one to leave and Kal locked up the door.
He had hired some extra personal for the night and they had already finish tidying up the whole place . Kal asked Leidi to make something for him and Isabella because she didn't have anything to eat except the chocolates which  he noticed the wrapping papers on the table where she was sitting.

Leidi went to his study and told Isabella that the boss had asked to prepare something for her to eat. Kal went upstairs to his bedroom for a bath, he needed to refresh himself after the conversation with his brother he needed to cool down a bit.Isabella sat down in the kitchen trying to make a conversation with Leidi as she ate her dinner.She looked around and couldn't see Kal and wondered if he had left .

"Leidi you can go and rest now", Kal said as he came in the kitchen, shirtless!

Isabella nearly choked on her dinner and had to drink her water and took in a deep breath.
She tried to keep her eyes from staring at his perfect torso.

" Sir, uhm.. why are you walking around like that? I mean we have work to finish and...", Isabella said stuttering a bit but Kal interrupted her,

" Uhm .. it's my house Miss . Garcia so I can walk around without a shirt on. I don't think a shirtless guy should bother you.. right?!", Kal said looking at her with a smirk on his face.
