Sungjae hears a loud splash and when he turns around, he sees Sooyoung lying on the ground. The sight is like a bucket of ice cold water on his body. He runs to her with concern and guilt etched on his face.
"Sooyoung! Sooyoung-ah!" Sungjae shakes the girl to no avail but there was no response. "Sooyoung, please wake up!" realizing that he has to do something, he carries Sooyoung in his arms and runs towards her house.
Wendy is checking up on Sooyoung and has just put a warm towel on her head. The girl is breathing heavily and her cheeks are red with fever. Sungjae and Chanyeol are watching by the door when the older one nudges the younger one and signals him to go downstairs together.
"Here." Chanyeol hands him a towel and heats up the tea for the boy. "Sungjae..."
Sungjae sees sadness and disappointment in his eyes. "Mianhae hyung. I have no excuse. I'm so sorry."
"I won't force you to tell me what happened." Chanyeol sets down a glass of tea. "But I do want you to know that besides my wife and me, only you knows about her condition. I know that my younger sister looks exactly like your late ex-girlfriend and I know what happened. I don't personally know Sorim but I sure hope that you know that they're two completely different people."
Sungjae nods, still feeling guilty. "I know, hyung. I know that and honestly, I don't see Sorim in Sooyoung at all. It's just that, these past few days, I'm really confused about something."
Chanyeol crosses his arms. "Whatever it is, I hope you sort your feelings out. Because I don't like seeing my baby sister like this, do you understand me?"
"Yes hyung." Sungjae lowers his head.
Wendy finally comes back down with a slight smile on her face. Sooyoung wake up when the boys left earlier and finding out that her sister-in-law is finally liking a guy again is a very huge improvement to her condition. And seeing Chanyeol with crossed arms and Sungjae with his head down, made her chuckle more.
"Are you scolding Sungjae, yeobo?" Wendy approaches the kitchen.
Chanyeol looks at his wife innocently. "No, I'm not."
"Oh, you protective oppa." Wendy chuckles again. "Dry yourself Sungjae. I'll see if my husband's small clothes will fit you. Stay until the rain stops, you might end up getting sick too."
"Thank you Wendy-noona." Sungjae nods.
Changsub could see that there's something wrong with Sungjae when he came home that night. The younger one sluggishly makes his way to his own room after dinner.
"What did you boys tell him this time?" Charm raises an eyebrow. "He's been like this for a week."
Changsub sighs, hugging his wife from behind and putting his chin on her shoulder. "I thought we could help him realize his feelings for Sooyoung. But it looks like we only made it worse. I feel so guilty."
"Pabo-ya." Charm turns around and flicks the boy's forehead. "You know Sungjae is stubborn and in denial. He was in-denial with the fact that Sorim treated him like an older brother he's still in-denial with his feelings for Sooyoung because he's scared to make the same mistakes. If you want your brother to accept his feelings you should've just pissed him off and made him jealous."
Changsub's face suddenly lights up. "Oh, you're right! You're so amazing. I'm so glad that I married you." He kisses his wife right on the lips.
Charm giggles at her husband's affection. "Seriously, you guys are a bunch of idiots." She then turns serious again. "Seriously though, let your brother think this through this time. Let him solve this one alone. It may take a while but he'll get there." The boy nods and kisses her once more.
