I'm Not Her

Chapter 14

Things are brighter for Sooyoung and Sungjae since they made up. Sooyoung gives the sketch to him that day. Their friends are happy for them too. Examination week comes and their group decides to go to Sooyoung's place to study. They are huddled up in the living room and has their own spots on the floor.

"We're going out." Wendy informs them. "Dinner's ready, don't forget to eat."

"We won't." Sooyoung suddenly stands up. "I'll walk you guys out."

Chanyeol calls for the boy. "Sungjae, her medicines. You know where they are."
Sungjae gives him a thumbs-up. "I'll take care of her, hyung."

"I'm right here guys!" Sooyoung rolls her eyes, making everyone laugh.

Sooyoung bids farewell to Chanyeol and Wendy; and goes back to the living room. Her group of friends and Sungjae grow to be inseparable and it's not just because of the two but because the rest has gotten together and are dating. The first couple to get together was Seulgi and Hyunsik, followed by Ilhoon and Irene and finally, Peniel and Yeri. Sooyoung finds Sungjae alone and decides to join him.

"Getting cozy?" Sooyoung returns to his side.

Sungjae scoots over to give her enough space. "My head is hurting. We've been studying since this morning."

"We really don't have much of a choice." Sooyoung giggles. "If we want to graduate, we have to pass these things."

Sungjae grabs the hand notes from the girl's hands. "Stop studying." He lays down his head on her lap. "Let's rest first."

"You're just like this because you know you'll pass." Sooyoung points out with her cheeks blushing pink.

"Don't act as if you two aren't at the top spots of our batch." Yeri complains. They look at everyone and realize that they're taking a rest as well.

Everyone gives up on reviving and just lounges at the Park's living room. They boys' attention is at Sooyoung's game console while the girls are at the couch prying on the girl's relationship status with the person she likes.

"I'm glad that you two made up." Irene opens up. "I don't know how much wallowing Ilhoon could take from Sungjae. He was so sad during those days."

Sooyoung blushes again. "I'm glad too."

"So, tell us..." Seulgi smiles teasingly. "How did you guys start talking again?"

Sooyoung shrugs. "He apologized and fulfilled a promise proving how sorry he was. And then I forgave him. I'm not that vindictive."

"Well, he knows that you like him, right?" Yeri whispers, causing the girl to blush. "What did he say? Are you guys dating now?"

"What? No." Sooyoung shakes her head. "He rejected me. He said he only likes me as a friend."

Three eyes widen at her. "HE SAID WHAT?!!"

The boys turned at the girls, causing Sooyoung to blush more as if it's possible. "I... I'll just get some snacks." She leaves in haste.

"I'll go with you." Irene stands up and follows the girl.

Yeri glares at the boy. "You're so stupid! You know that?" she sneers at him.

"What did I do?!" Sungjae stares in a clueless manner.

His friends chuckle. "We expected this kind of reaction." Peniel shrugs.

"Sooyoung tell you that she likes you and you tell her you only like her as a friend?!" Yeri half-shouts, half-whispers.

Sungjae's cheeks suddenly turns pink. "That's the truth though."
