I had been home for 3 or 4 hours unpacking the boxes that my mom and dad had shipped to me. I was making some pretty good headway when I came across a box of all the photos and nicknacks from my bedroom. I grabbed the box and started pulling out the pictures. Picture of Jake and I in high school, pictures of all of us at my college graduation, and so forth. I pulled out a box from within the box. It was an old shoe box, when I opened it, I couldn't help but laugh. It was all my Jimmy pictures. I had an entire box of pictures that I had forgotten about. There were several magazine covers and small pictures in there as well. I remember these. I had put them up above my desk in college. It was crazy how my life had changed since then. I mean, here I was unpacking a box of stuff to put in my boyfriends house, OUR house, and I unpack a box full of magazine covers and pictures of him. That's crazy.

I laughed as I stood up and closed the box. I decided that I was gonna show this to Jimmy when he got home, but for now I would put it away for safe keeping, that way I didn't lose it in all this mess. I put the box on the top shelf of the closet when I knocked a small blue box down.

"Whoops." I said as I bent down to pick it up. A picture had fallen out of the box. I picked that up and flipped it over. It was a picture of Jimmy and Nancy on what could only be their wedding day. "What the hell..." I said as I sat down on the bed. I opened the box and looked around. There were tons of pictures in here of Nancy. Nancy and Jimmy. Nancy alone. Nancy with Winnie. I put the box down and looked through the pictures. I felt wrong. Like I was invading someone's privacy. I looked down at the pictures and I could see the love in Jimmy's face and in his eyes. This was not a man who fell out of love. His face was the same in every picture.  I felt my eyes begin to water and I moved the pictures out of the way and found some old letters. I read one. That's when I got angry. I angrily threw the box on its side, and a silver wedding band fell out of the box. I lost it. I started bawling.

It was then I heard the door open and keys jingling. "Breckyn? Where you at babe?" I heard Jimmy call down the hallway. I wiped the tears out of my eyes and sat on the bed. "In the bedroom." I called back curtly. I was not happy, and I didn't plan on hiding it. I heard thunder overhead and rain began to fall on the roof. I heard the fridge open and close and footsteps approaching the doorway. Jimmy entered the room with a smile on his face as he threw his tie onto the bed next to me. It landed right next to the box. I watched it land and then looked back up at Jimmy. I saw the color drain from his face as more thunder rolled overhead. He pointed to the box and stopped smiling. "Whats that out for?" he asked.

Thunder boomed above our heads. He looked up at the ceiling as the rain came down in a torrential downpour outside. He looked back at me and I took a deep breath in and out. "I need you to tell me the truth, James." I said, as calmly as I could. Just then a massive lightning bolt hit outside the house and the room with pitch black.

I had grabbed my phone off the bedside table and went to the kitchen looking for a flashlight that I had put under the sink months ago when the faucet quit draining properly. Jimmy wanted to call a plumber out to the house, but I had fixed it myself. I left the flashlight there just in case I needed it again.  I was bent down shining my light under the sink when I took a deep breath in.

"Don't cry, Brecks. It's just a blackout. It happens all the time during storms on the East Coast. It should be back on momentarily." He said as he came up behind me and grabbed my hips. "I'm not crying, I am looking for a flashlight! God, where is that flashlight I put underneath here!" Jimmy put his hands up and backed up to the window and looked out of it at the storm.

"We should probably call Nancy. I mean, if the lights are out, and she has Winnie, I'm kind of worried about her being alone." Jimmy said as he turned back around to face me. I stood up and put my hands on my hips. "Yeah, Im SURE you are." I said as I looked back under the sink. "Oh, finally." I said picking up the flashlight from under a pipe and turning it on. Jimmy walked towards me and I hit him on the arm with the light, breaking it in the process.
