I awoke with a startle. Something must have knocked me out of my sleep. I rolled over to snuggle Breckyn but only felt empty sheets. I sat up in bed and rubbed my face. I looked around, Breckyn was nowhere in sight. That's when I heard it. I shot out of bed like a bullet, wrapping the sheet around my waist as I ran to the bathroom. I flipped on the light switch and looked down at Breckyn. She had her head lowered into the toliet and was sobbing with every heave.

I ran over to her and wrapped my arms around her shaking body. I held her hair back as she heaved into the toliet again. I rubbed her back and kissed the back of her head. She was sobbing and breathing heavily, holding her stomach. "Something is wrong, Jimmy." She managed to say between heaves. She held her stomach and cried into my shoulder. "I don't think anything is wrong, Breck. I think this is morning sickness. Right on schedule. This is normal. I know its painful, I know it sucks, but this is actually something that we WANT to happen. Morning sickness is from your hormones going crazy. Your hormones are doubling in the first part of pregnancy, and that is what makes you sick.  So this is a good thing, it means the baby is growing." I said as I grabbed one of her hair ties I put on my wrist last night and pulled her hair into a pony tail. I reached up on the sink and grabbed a washcloth and run it under some cold water. I brought it back down and wiped the back of her neck and her face with it. Breckyn grabbed the wash cloth from my hand and wiped her mouth with it, looking up at me.

"How do you know so much about all this?" she asked me. I stood up and flushed the toliet for her. "I do have a daughter, remember." I laughed at her. "I was there for appointments and stuff. We knew our surrogate, so she let us go to the first few appointments. Plus, I read all the books I could before Winnie came. I just remember that for some reason." I blushed and turned red. "Well, I HATE throwing up. It's like a phobia of mine. I really hate it. Plus, its really hurting my incisions." Breckyn said as she rubbed her side.

"I know, honey. Let's make that appointment for this week with that OBGYN that Nancy and I had gone too. She's really good. She'll be able to help you with this." I said, as I reached down and helped her up. "Until then, I can grab you some crackers and some ginger ale or something. Are you okay?" I asked as I steadied her with my arms. She let a little burp out and held her mouth shut. She swallowed hard. "Yeah, I think I'm alright for right now." I went to kiss her, but on second thought, I kissed her forehead. "I'll be right back." I turned and walked out of the bathroom and went to go downstairs. I made it to the door when I heard Breckyn call out., "Might wanna put some pants on, babe." I looked down at the purple satin sheets around my waist and turned around. "THANK YOUUUUU... That would have been embarrassing. Sometimes I forget we arent at our house." I reached down and grabbed my black gym shorts but couldn't find my boxers. I shrugged. These would have to do for now. I threw the sheet back on the bed and threw on my gym shorts. I reached over on the bed post and grabbed my shirt that was haphazardly thrown over it.

I ran down the stairs and literally walked into Jake. "Hey, Jim. You're up early." he said as I backed up and apologized. "Uh, yeah," I started 'Breckyn doesn't feel too good, so Im down here searching for crackers and something to settle her stomach." I walked into the kitchen as Jake followed me. "Yeah, I heard. That girl wakes up the entire house when she pukes, dude. Is she okay?" I looked around the room and pointed behind me with my thumb "She's alright, I just think she needs to settle her stomach and she'll be okay. It hurts her incisions, but she's hanging in there. Where are the crackers, bud?" Jake got up from leaning in the doorway and opened a cabinet behind me and handed me a sleeve of crackers. "Here you go, Jimmy. There should be some sprite in the fridge." I took the crackers from his hand. "Thanks, Jake." I opened the door and bent down to look in, I reached in a grabbed a can and turned around. "Well, I hope she feels better soon, I hope she didn't catch a bug or something." Jake said, sounded concerned. I walked by and put a hand on his shoulder. "I think she just has something that's not settling right at the moment." I felt bad lying to Jake but they would find out soon enough. I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag without Breckyn. "Thanks again." I said holding up the crackers and soda. "I should get back upstairs to Pukey McGee though."
