~Thanatos~

I sighed as I turned on my heel and headed back for where I left Blaine at the foot of the stairs. What the hell am I supposed to do with him? It wasn't like I could take hiim back to his house. I knew Zoe wouldn't take him and I didn't dare trust Karman with him. Hmm. . . My parents? Fuck no! They would interrogate him to the brink of insanity. I sighed again. There was only one solution really. He would have to stay here with me.

I stopped right in front of him and looked down. "Why are you still laying on the floor?"

"I don't know. It's comfortable, I guess."

I rolled my eyes and stuck my hand out to him. "Come on. You've got to get up because we need to talk."

He eyed my hand warily before looking back up at me. "No, thanks. I'm good."

I narrowed my eyes. "That wasn't a suggestion."

He mimicked my actions. "Oh, really? Then, just what was it?"

I sighed. There was no way I was going to win this. The question is, did I even want to win? I shook my head and plopped down beside him. I sprawled out on my back and looked over at him.

"See? Now, you have no choice but to talk to me." I smirked.

"Actually, I could just lay here and ignore you."

"You have a point, but I'm pretty sure you'll want a say in what we're going to talk about."

He gave me a curious look. "Why? What are we going to talk about?" He sat up.

"Well, I was going to say I have no clue what to do with you."

He made a face. "No one ever does."

I tilted my head in confusion. "What do you mean?"

He huffed and rolled his eyes. "No one ever knows what to do with me. They don't know if they want to keep me around for the kicks or chunk me off the nearest cliff."

Jeez. People are cruel. Then again, I could understand that reasoning rather well. This boy was so confusing and annoying at times that I just wanted to smack him. And he's only been here for a day!

I sighed. "That's not what I meant."

"Then, what did you mean?"

"I meant I'm not sure where you're going to stay. I mean, I don't trust you with either of my sisters and my parents would drive you bat shit crazy."

He gave me a confused look. "Why?"

"Because they would want to know who you are, how we met, what you're do-"

"Thanatos, who is that human and why is he in your house?"

I groaned. They just had to show up now, didn't they?

"Don't keep your mother waiting, Thanatos."

I sighed. "It's complicated."

My mother put her hands on her hips. "We have time and I'm pretty sure we can keep up."

I turned to the human in question. "Blaine, I need you to go upstairs and find my wallet. I think we're going to go out to eat after this and I have no idea where I left it."

He tilted his head, slightly perplexed, until understanding dawned on him. "Oh, sure. What door?"

I mentally stabbed him a million times. How could he not remember the very door he eavesdropped on the other side of?

"Second door on the left."

"Okay." He clambered to his feet and scuttled up the stairs.

I sighed and shook my head. That boy was something else.

"Thanatos. . ." My mother said in an impatient tone.

I groaned and turned back to my parents. "Long story short, his step dad killed his mother and then was going to rape him. I had an argument with Zoe and she threatened to make me experience actual living if I didn't do anything, so I stepped in and saved him and now I have no clue as to what to do with him."

"How is that supposed to be complicated?"

I shrugged. "It was a jumble in my head until just now."

"Your sister is in big trouble," my mother muttered.

I winced. Okay, so I may or may not have just thrown my sister into the shark tank without any hope of escape. . .
