~Thanatos~
I sighed and leaned back in my chair as I watched my parents torture Blaine with an involuntary game of twenty questions. Blaine sent me a pleading look and I mentally groaned. I was about to step in the line of fire for this guy. . .
"Mom, Dad, leave him be, please," I said as I pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Excuse me?" My mother practically screeched.
Blaine and I both winced and I tried a bit of backtracking. "I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but he's already been through a lot today. I'm sure he would like to eat in peace."
"I don't like your tone, young man."
I sighed. You would think I was still a teenager with the way they were acting. In reality, I was an adult and had been for quite some time. I mean, five hundred and seventy-nine years wasn't a very big deal in the immortal world, but I had been around long enough that I didn't really need their parenting very often anymore.
"Dad, I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. I was only pointing out the truth."
They both crossed their arms and glared at me and I shrank down in my seat.
"Excuse me, uh, Kalos and Kakos, I'm not meaning to interfere, but maybe you should cut him some slack. He was just trying to help me out. He's telling you the truth, you know."
They turned to stare down Blaine next. Thankully, the waiter came with our food just then. That seemed to be enough to distract them or the time being.

Thanatos and I had just gotten back to his house and we were currently lounging around on the couch. Fortunately, his parents decided it was time to go home after lunch.
"Well, that was a complete disaster. I'm sorry that your first meeting with them was so bad. They aren't normally that bad, I swear."
I gave him a hal grin. "It's alright. That's nothing compared to my best friend's parents. They are some serious hard asses. I mean, Leslie couldn't really do anything without them breathing down her neck and telling her she was doing it all wrong." I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, was there a particular reason they were so touchy."
He scrunched up his nose. "Not that I could think of. I mean, hell, they treated my ex boyfriend better than that. Then again, he was immortal." He made a face.
I stared at him in shock. Did he just admit he was gay? Was today my lucky day or what? I mean, I was currently sitting on the couch with an incredibly sexy man who just so happened to be gay and. . . And he also happened to be an immortal who had probably been alive for centuries already. That last thought snapped me out of my little fantasy. What the hell was I thinking?
~Thanatos~
I tilted my head curiously as I watched Blaine making faces at himself. He seemed to be having some sort of internal war and it was quite amusing to watch. But I was really wondering what the hell he was thinking.
I snapped my fingers in front of his face. "You okay?"
He turned beet red and looked away from me. "Yeah. I was just thinking that I was really lucky because you just happen to be sexy and gay."
