Chapter 16 ~ Reality Finally Came Crashing Down on Me

~Blaine~

I had been staying with Thanatos for a few weeks now and things were still as crazy as when we first met. He's still exasperating, I'm still moody as hell, and his sister is still fucking nuts. Well, at least we had that stable part of life. Unfortunately, not everything is like that. Naturally, reality had to come crashing down around me at some point in time. And it seemed that this was that moment.

I laid in my bed in Thanatos's guest room and cried quietly. I was currently thinking about my mother, tears streaming down my face as images of her bloody body flashed through my mind. The guilt of cleaning up the mess that monster had created was slowly killing me. It was moments like this that I wished Death would just take me away already. Kind of ironic considering the fact that Thanatos had already taken me away from the disaster that used to be my life.

The bed dipped behind me and I felt arms slip around my waist in a comforting gesture. I turned around and stared up at Thanatos.

"What are you doing?"

He raised an eyebrow. "I could ask you the same thing."

I groaned. "That's not an answer."

He shrugged. "You looked like you could use some comfort right about now."

I snorted and rolled my eyes. "That, my friend, would be a gross understatement."

He chuckled. "Well, at least I'm trying here."

I gave him a half-hearted grin. "Yeah, I guess so."

"You know, I'm not supposed to ever disclose this kind of information, but. . ." He trailed off.

I gave him a confused look. "What?"

He cleared his throat. "She isn't hurting anymore."

"What are you-" I cut myself off.

He nodded.

~Thanatos~

"Your mom. She was actually very grateful when I came for her. But she made me promise her something. Something I haven't told anyone."

"What's that?" He choked out around his tears.

"She made me promise to take care of you. She-

"Promise me something, please?"

A/N: I thought I would just leave you guys with that cliffhanger XD I'm sorry it took me so long to update, but I've been busy and stuff just keeps happening. Anyway, this turned out to be a filler and I'm really sorry about that, but I'm hoping the next chapter will be better. I love you guys!!!
