"Long time no see, babe. You forgot to get in touch with me, eh?" Travis said as he stand in front of us. I saw Reid's jaw cleched tight. Nang tingnan ko ito ay nakatitig ito ng malalim kay Travis.
"U-Uh.... Why are you here?" I stammered as I smiled nervously and tried to lighten the mood. His eyes went on Reid. Pawang sinusubok nito ang kaharap. Nagtagal ng konti ang titigan nila bago ako harapin ni Travis.
He smiled. "Because, I missed you already..." He said sweetly. Ramdam ko ang galit ni Reid sa aking tabi. His burning anger is touching my bare skin. Tinitigan ko ang reaksyon nito. Nanatili itong nakatingin kay Travis.
"O-Oh, c'mon! S-Stop feeding me with lies!" Sabi kong muli kay Travis. Palala ng palala ang tensyon sa loob ng kusina. Si Mama ay umeskapo sa eksena, tila binibigyan kami ng espasyo.
"You didn't believe me?? Ouch!" He said while dramatically his hand into his heart. I laughed softly because of it.
"B-By the way, this is Reid Valentin Peralta. Reid, Travis. Travis, Reid.." Pagpapakilala ko sa kanilang dalawa. Sumeryosong muli ang ekspresyon sa mukha ni Travis.
"Hi. I'm Travis Collins. Lian's Friend." Pormal na pagpapakilala ni Travis habang naglalahad ng kamay sa kaharap. Nanatili ang mga mata ni Reid sa kamay ni Travis. As if he doesn't want to accept it. Tumingin sa akin si Reid at nagbuntong hininga. Kalaunan ay tinanggap rin nito ang nakalahad na kamay.
"I'm Reid Peralta. Lian's...." Tumingin sya saakin na para bang nanghihingi ng permiso kung sasabihin nya ba ang tungkol sa aming dalawa.
"Boss. He's my boss." I cut him off. His brows furrowed as I said the final word. He looked at me daggers and confused.
"Hmmm, I see. So, how's your life here? Kailan ka babalik satin?" Sabi nya at binalewala na ang presensya ni Reid na nadagdagan lang ang galit.
"She's not going back." Reid said with finality na ikinagitla ko. Kita ko ang pagkagulat ni Travis sa sinabi nito.
"She's gonna work for me here. Permanently." He added. Nag-aalalang tumingin sa akin si Travis. As if he's confirming if it's true. Pinagbantaan ko si Reid sa pamamagitan ng tingin.
"What are you talking about?" He said in a deep serious tone.
"I said, she's gonna work here. In my company. Permanently." Pag-uulit ni Reid. Tila napapantig ang tenga ko. What the hell?
"Lian, Can we talk?" Travis said while looking at me dangerously. His expression tells it all. Bumaling ulit ang tingin nito kay Reid. Tila gusto nitong paalisin ang lalaki.
"R-Reid.. please give us a moment..." I turned to him. Tumango lamang ito at bumaling ulit kay Travis bago tuluyang umalis sa kusina.
"Are you serious?! You're gonna stay here??" He said loudly as Reid exited. Napapikit naman ako ng mariin habang inilalapag ang tussel bag ko sa lamesa. Oh, this is a mess!
"Y-Yes.... I'm gonna stay here for good, Trav. I'm sorry if I didn't tell you earlier..." I said in a guilty tone. Muli itong sumandal sa pader at pumikit ng mariin. Hinilot nito ang sentido na madalas nitong ginagawa kapag stress. Napabuntong hininga na lamang ako sa tabi.
"You're staying because of him, huh?" He said as he opened his eyes. It darkly landed on mine. Pawang naestatwa ako sa aking kinatatayuan dahil sa tanong na iyon. There are no words came out from my mouth. That being said, I am indeed guilty.
"W-What makes you think that? You're b-being assu-" I was cutoff by his semi-violent response.
"You think I am that dumb, Liana? You think I didn't know who's that person?! That's the fucktard who broke your heart that's why you ended up with me!" He shouted as he walked towards me. I was taken aback kaya naman napaatras ako.
