Maaga akong nagising upang maghanda. Today, mag-uusap kami ni Travis. I want to patch things with him for he is dear to me. At gusto kong linawin sa kanya na magkaibigan lang kami. And, if he's not going to accept it, I think it's better for us to separate ways.
Nagbibihis na ako ng biglang tumunog ang cellphone ko. And I think I have an idea kung sino ang tumatawag. Nakangisi kong tiningnan ang screen ng telepono bago sinagot. Ilang beses nya na akong kinukulit na ihatid ako. And of course, I refuse. I can manage it myself. Isa pa, marami syang inaasikaso sa Hacienda. Nalalapit na ang anihan.
"I told you already!" I said in a pretended irritated voice. I heard him sighed because of my remarks.
"Please baby... Let me drive you there.... Please...." He said, pleasing me with those husky voice. I rolled my eyes. This guy is too persistent!
"Reid, I said I can go there alone..." I said softly. I want to go there myself because I knew, somehow, the tension will rise again.
"Please..." He said one more time. I sighed and give in.
"Fine! Pero ihahatid mo lang ako. Huwag kang bababa!" Sabi kong nagbabanta. There was a silence before that. I knew it!
"Okay. Hindi ako bababa..." He said. I pouted my lips. I knew he couldn't.
"You promise?" Paniniguradk ko sa kanya. I knew his stubbornness. He's very hard-headed.
"I promise......Only if, he didn't do anything wrong." Matigas nitong sabi sa huli. Napabuntong hininga na naman ako.
"Alright, I get it. I knew Trav. He wouldn't do anything stupid." I said. Narinig ko ang pagbulong nito sa kabilang linya kaya tinanong ko ito.
"You got a pet name to him, huh?" He sarcastically said. Nanlaki naman ang mata ko. This guy is really testing my patience.
"Reid, it's not a pet name, you dork! I just got used to call him that." I said in disbelief.
"Fine, fine." He said. Finally hanging up.
"Be there in a few minutes...." Dagdag pa nito at tuluyan ng binaba ang linya. Napailing na lamang ako.
Humarap ako sa salamin at naglagay ng light make-up to freshen my looks. Hanggang ngayon ay iniisip ko pa din ang mga sasabihin ko kay Travis. Kung paano kami nagkabalikan ni Reid, kung bakit hanggang kaibigan lang ang tingin ko dito. Travis is like a big brother to me. I'd never thought that he actually like me in a romantic way.
Agad akong tumayo sa upuan ng marinig ang pamilyar na tunog ng sasakyan ni Reid. I bid goodbye to my parents before leaving the house. Reid, as usual was waiting outside in his dashing three piece suit.
"Why are you dressed like that?" I chuckled as he opened the door for me.
"There is an event later. You can come if you want..." He said in a deep baritone voice. I just nodded.
"K-Kasama si Laureen?" Hindi ko alam kung anong pumasok sa utak ko at bigla ko iyong naitanong. Hmmm. Maybe jealousy? Insecurities? I don't know.
"Yes.... She's gonna be the spoke person of the company..." He said as he started the engine. Spoke person, huh?
"Yes. That's perfect. You and her can build an empire since she's good at it." I blurted out of nowhere. Now, where did that came from. He suddenly stopped the car in the middle of the highway na ikinagitla ko. Seryoso nya akong tinitigan. Hindi naman ako makaalma.
"Now, what upsets my baby?" Sabi nito at inilapit ang mukha sa akin. He unbuckled my seatbelt and drawn me closer to him. Mas lalo nya pang inilapit ang mukha at pinagdikit ang mga ilong. He's looking at me like I am fragile or something.
