Fireworks

Cory's POV

What the hell did I just do?

I get into my car, but before I start it, I hit the steering wheel a couple times. How could I be this stupid, to kiss my best friend?

I think things would of gone better if I didn't go for her waist, she was kissing back for crying out loud!

Once I pull out of her driveway I go back to the hockey rink. All my stress goes away when I just skate around and chuck balls into the net.

Finally, I get on the ice with a couple pucks and my stick. I'm so angry with myself so I'm hitting these pucks a million miles per hour when I hear the noisy entrance door open.

I look up to it and see Lea. She walks down to the rink while I skate off the ice and take my skates off.

"Hey, I thought I'd find you here!" She says happily.

Her tone is a little confusing, shouldn't she be yelling at me?

"Yeah...just needed to clear my thoughts."

"Why would you want to clear your thoughts?"

"Lea, you know exactly why."

She looks at her feet then back to me.

"Honestly, I was a little taken back when you said you loved me...then that kiss-"

I interrupt her with a sigh because I know only bad things are going to come of this conversation.

"That kiss, Cory. At first I was stunned, but when I actually kissed you back, you know what I saw?"

I shrug.

"Fireworks"

Lea grabs my hands and places them on her waist. I was so surprised at what she was doing when I realized she wanted me to kiss her.

I lean down and gently cup her face and kiss her soft lips. She was right. I also saw fireworks.

This time, she heats the kiss up. I honestly don't have a problem with it, so I kiss back harder. Right before I was about to use my tongue, she pulls back, but with a smile.

"Fireworks" I say still recovering from her kiss.

"I didn't get to tell you this earlier but, I love you too, Cory."

I hug her tight while she wraps her arms my neck, then kissing me. I release first.

"So what does this mean?" I ask.

"It means I love you, you love me."

I flash a smirk at her which of course makes her giggle.

I grab her hand and we walk out of the rink, for the first time ever as a couple.
