Lea's POV

School has sorta gone back to normal. Not as many slut comments or jokes and no locker room videos.

Just a couple more days until summer starts and life will hopefully go back to normal. Besides dad. After I got my phone and car back, there have been no phone calls, emails, or attempt for face to face contact. A while back ago, I decided I couldn't go to the police. Something told me that turning in your own flesh and blood was the ultimate disgrace. I still love my dad, but the real question is, does he love me too?

While skimming through my locker, my eyes were stopped by a familiar sight. A brown haired girl with red highlights was walking past me.

"Brianna?" I choke out just enough for her to turn back and look at me.

"Lea...right?" She has a look of shock planted on her face but slowly walks in my direction.

"I never got to thank you for the whole clothes thing, or give you your clothes back." A light chuckle escapes my mouth. Her body looks relaxed now.

"Oh don't worry...those clothes didn't fit me anyways."

"That's not what I mean. I was being a really big snob and the least I could've done for you was say thank you."

"Hun, I let go of that a long time ago, water under the bridge." She pauses, like she contemplating what to say next.

"I guess I'd be pretty pissed if I was in your shoes."

"I'm glad you forgave me but I should really make this up to you. What are you doing after school?"

"Nothing."

"Good, we're going to the mall! You can tell me all about those red highlights." I smiled and winked at her.

"Okay, meet me out front after school ends."

"I'll be there!"

Walking to my next class, I bump into Cory.

"Hey babe." He kisses the top of my head. "I was wondering if you wanted to do something after school?" His fingers lace with mine.

"Can't, I've got girl plans."

"Is that a period joke or something?"

I gasp and slap his arm quite violently.

"Guess I deserved that." He says vaguely.

"You most certainly did. Anyways, I'm going to the mall with my friend, Brianna."

"Who's Brianna?"

"Let's just say she helped me out when I really needed it."

It doesn't look like Cory really knew what I was talking about but he didn't question me.

*********

Me and Brianna sat down in the food court with our subway and drinks.

"Tell me about yourself." I say while sipping my coke zero.

"Well, I moved here to Canada from Florida a couple months ago due to my mom's job." A small smile creeps on her face. It fit her light brown skin quite well.

"Woah, Florida? Big climate change, eh?"

"Yeah, it's so freaking cold up here." She mutters while her eyes flicker around the food court.

"Your lucky, living in Florida your whole life while I've never even been to the beach."

I've only seen snow, never sand.
