Lea's POV

Cory's been in the hospital for about 5 days. It's been a tough 5 days for me and his mom.

When I called his mom, she dropped work and came straight to the hospital. The first 2 days, he hadn't woken up. Me and his mom just cried and cried waiting for a miracle.

Then it happened. The morning of day 3, Cory had woken up. He has been working on getting better ever since his accident.

"Hey, Lea. I have to talk to Cory about something very important, why don't you head home and get some rest then come back later?" His mom said.

I nodded and kissed Cory goodbye.

"I'll miss you, Lea." He said.

"Don't worry, I'll be back later!" I winked at him before leaving.

When I got home, I saw my dad on the couch...drinking and watching tv.

Shocker

"Lea, why are you always gone? I feel like I hardly ever see you anymore." He says with a frown.

"I'm always hanging out with Cory and my friends I guess."

"How is that boyfriend of yours, anyway?"

"He's actually in the hospital." I reply blankly.

"What? Why?"

"He almost overdosed." I'm kinda worried on how my dad will react, I mean with the whole drug situation.

"LEA!" He screams.

"What?"

"How could you date someone who does drugs?! Has he pressured you into doing them with him?" I can tell that he is furious with me.

"God no! Cory isn't like that, he doesn't even want to do drugs, his addiction just took over this time."

"Has he pressured you in doing other bad things...?"

I'm pretty sure my dad is referring to sex. He never pressured me, we just did it cause we wanted to. No harm done there.

"No, I'm going to bed." I make my way to my room when my dad says one more thing.

"Any more stunts like the one he pulled and you won't be dating him anymore!!!"

********

The next morning I got a text from Cory:

Come see me at the hospital, I have to tell you something really important.

I quickly drive to the hospital and walk to his room.

"Hey, what'd you want to tell me?" I ask while sitting at the edge of his bed.

"I just wanted you to know that my mom isn't giving me a choice." He takes in a deep breath before continuing.

"She's sending me to rehab. She doesn't want anything like this to happen ever again and I don't blame her."

"I understand that...how long will you be gone?" I ask with little tears streaming down my face.

"About a month, it's an hour away from here and I can't bring my phone. So basically no contact with anyone while I'm up there." He replies.

"I want you to get better so I will wait patiently for you to get back. When are you leaving?"

"As soon as I'm out of the hospital..." He pulls me in for a hug.

I don't want him to leave me all by myself. I've never been a day without Cory, let alone a month.

"I'll be thinking about you, always. When I come back, I'm never leaving again." He whispers to me.

"You better not leave me, I love you to much for anything like this to happen again."
