~Two Suffering Souls~ [Clouis Fan Fiction]

Chapter 4

I get closer to the commotion, to where I see the raiders threatening our group. Everyone seems completely horrified. Violet has her butcher knife out, right on the edge of fighting. Aasim tries to calm the situation down by saying "Everyone needs to chill the fuck out! It was all a big misunderstanding!" Aasim looks in my direction and notices my presence. I notice a wave of relief pass by him. "Clementine, can you handle this situation?" I nod my head and take over the conversation. The person who Aasim was talking to, is a man in his mid forties. Fairy dark skin, and thinning hair. In his right hand, he holds a loaded gun. "Are you the leader of the group?" I ask. He responds with "No. Our leader is in no mood to talk to you", he says in a low crabby voice. I think of what our group could have possibly done. Then it all hits me like a truck. The man we saw at the train station, was probably a part of their group. He probably managed to escape and tell the rest of his group what happened. "You fucking killed one of our people! After all the exchanges we've made, you decide to pull this shit!" I see the angriness start to build up in him. The gun he held in his right hand, quickly gets pointed at my face. My eyes widen in fear, worrying if he will pull the trigger. I hear everyone gasp, and set off into panic. I hear a voice come behind him saying "That's enough, Avery. Lower the fucking gun." He lowers the gun and looks behind him. "I'm sorry, Lily." After his apology, the person who demanded him to lower the gun, walks up to the steps. She has short wavy hair, and wears a thick leather jacket. I analyze her. She seems quite familiar. Her name seems conversant as well. She looks at me as well. We look at each other for a solid twenty seconds, until she speaks up. "Is that you, Clementine?" I hesitate, then say "Yeah. Yeah, it is". Lily wasn't in our group for a long period of time, but she gave me tips on how to survive. Without her, I could've possibly died a long time ago. "Holy shit, it's been ages since the last time I've seen you!" She says in complete shock. I hear Aasim say "You know her?" I reply to his question with "Yeah, we go way back". I can tell Lily's still shocked. "The last time I saw you, you were just a kid. Now you're a fucking leader!" She says with a tiny chuckle.
Suddenly, a bullet goes through her shoulder. Lily screams in pain, and drops to the ground. I look at Mitch, to see him holding a gun. "I-I thought she was going to attack us!" I scream in rage saying "Why the FUCK would you think that!" I see the raiders raise their guns, and start firing at us. I say to him in rage "If we fucking live after this, you are dead to me." Everyone sets off into fear and runs in different directions. My heart drops, when I realize I don't know where AJ is. "AJ!" I scream at the top of my lungs. My heart triples it's paste, as I realize I have to save the group. I manage to hear the piano still playing, meaning Louis is completely oblivious to what's happening. I run to him as fast as I can, to warn him. I run through the door saying "Louis! We have to leave right now! Raiders have invaded the school, and are firing their guns as we speak!" He immediately stops playing the piano and grabs his weapon. We rush out the door, as he says "What the fuck happened?" I respond with "Mitch thought they were going to attack. He shot their leader, who I actually knew." "Well, we're fucked. I'll try and fight off the raiders. You get everyone to safety," Louis states. "No Lou-", he quickly cuts me off. "Don't fight me on this, Clem! I'll be fine. I've made it this far." I see him smirk at me and take off in a totally different direction.
I run down the main hall, and see the raiders throwing gas bombs in the school. I see Violet coughing aggressively, as I sprint towards her. "Violet. We need to get out of here. Are you going to be okay?" I notice her legs get weaker as if she's about to pass out. I catch her, just before she falls to the floor. I start to panic. Luckily, I see Aasim's silhouette and call for help. "Aasim! Take Violet to safety! I'll gather the others, and evacuate the school." He races over and takes Violet in his arms. Aasim says "Be careful, Clementine. We need you." I reply with "You too. Be careful." He takes off where there aren't any gas bombs being thrown. I cover my mouth and run into the gas. I have to make sure everyone is safe. As I get closer, I notice someone pinned up against the wall. I see one of the raiders, holding a gun to AJ's head. "Clem! Help!" I hear AJ say. I draw my gun, and shoot at the raiders head. He plummets to the group, as I run to AJ. "AJ. You need to get out of here. It's not safe." He quickly says "Can I have my gun back so I can defend myself?" I reply with "Yeah, sure". I reach into my back pocket, and luckily feel AJ's gun. I toss it at him and tell him "The main entrance is blocked. Try the backdoor." AJ asks "Why can't I just stay with you?" I answer with, "They might try and target me. I don't want you to get shot. AJ, just be safe. Meet with the rest of the group outside." I hug him, and see him run off into the distance. I know AJ is perfectly capable of handling himself. I know he'll survive.
I check the doors, to make sure no ones in the rooms. I run in the same direction AJ did, this time seeing Mitch fighting for his life. I see two of the raiders, beating the shit out of him. "You fucking shot her, you wimp!" I hear one of the raiders say to Mitch. I run over to Mitch, to try and fight the raiders off of him. Suddenly, I notice a knife go through his neck. He coughs blood everywhere, then drops dead to the ground. I grab the knife from his neck and stab one of the raiders in the gut. The second raider grabs my wrist and tosses me to the ground. He reaches for his gun as I tremble in fear. As he points the gun to my head, he gets hit in the skull with a chair leg. I then see Louis, smirking at me. Louis sticks his hand out for me to reach. I grab his hand and get back on my feet. I then hug him tight. "God, I thought I was fucking dead!" He hugs me back, and reassures me by saying "Aren't you lucky you have me?" I look at him with a smile and say "Yeah, I guess I am." I quickly pull away from the hug, as I notice Ruby screaming at us. "We're in the middle of a fucking war zone, and you guys are hugging? This is why I didn't vote for you, Clementine. Always thinking about yourself." I see Ruby take off, where all the raiders are heading. "Ruby, you're going to get yourself killed!" I hear her say "Fuck off, Clementine", as the smoke blocks my sight from her. Louis says "We can't save her Clem! She'll get us killed. We need to exit the school, to make sure everyone else survived!" I think of what Louis says. I need to make sure AJ is safe. I don't want to be separated from Louis either. I cross my fingers, and hope to God Ruby will make it out alright. I grab Louis' hand and find the closest exit out of the school. I open the door, seeing the sun beaming down on the grass. I take a breath in and get ready to run. I open the wooden door and quickly shut it behind us. We sprint as fast as we can, to make sure no one sees us. We run into the forest, where it's quite camouflaged. The trees surround us, as we catch our breath. "Are you alright?" I ask Louis in concern. "I'm fine. Are you going to be okay?" He questions. "Yeah, I think."
I lay down on the turf ground, lucky to see blue skies again. Louis then lays down next to me. "What are you thinking about?" Louis asks. "How lucky I am to live another day."
I hear him sigh. I then realize how lucky I am to of met Louis. I think of how much happiness he's made me feel. He's made me look at life through a different lens. I feel tears at the borderline of my eyes. "Y'know, Louis? I thought all this time, I'd be alone. I thought when I lost AJ, life wasn't even worth fighting for. When I found AJ again, I felt so relieved. Then when I met you, my whole world flipped around. I just hope you'll be the one who will stick with me 'till the end." I see Louis give me a smile. "Well, I can't guarantee anything. All I can ensure is that I'm here with you now". He lightly grabs my hand, reassuring my worries. He wipes away my tears, with his other hand.
"Where do you think everyone else is?" I ask. He looks up at the sky, and ponders. "Usually we have a meeting spot, in case of emergencies. I think it's near the greenhouse." "Well I hate to ruin the moment but, we should meet up with the others," I say. "Don't worry, we'll get better moments together," Louis says with a grin. We get up, and start heading towards the greenhouse. "When are we going to tell the others we're dating?" I ask Louis. "Well we could hold hands as we walk there", he responds. "Sounds like a plan," I say in a flirtatious voice.
We hold hands the whole walkthrough. Now we get ready to tell the others, Louis and I are in a relationship.
