~Two Suffering Souls~ [Clouis Fan Fiction]

Chapter 17

Ashton warns me to leave the group while I still can. Daniel has threatened to kill Ashton, Jocelyn, Ryan, and Hayden from what I've been told.  "Why haven't you tried to kill him?" I ask Ashton. He pauses, then says "He has too many connections with raiders. God, if they found him dead, they'd track you down. The raiders would torture you to death." A cold chill crawls down my spine, as I hear what he says. "How do you know this?" I ask him. "Someone before was apart of our group. He was sick and tired of Daniel's rules. He tried to shoot Daniel, but he himself ended up getting a bullet in the head," he says while shaking his head.
A minute passes by with complete silence. To break it, Ashton says "We need to get out of here. We should leave early in the morning." I tell Ashton, "Leaving him alive would only mean he'll have a higher chance of finding us." He disagrees then answers back with "Leaving him alive in better than us being tortured by raiders. You don't understand now, but you will. You have to trust me." I see him shake in his boots, wanting to leave this place.
"Who can I tell we're leaving?" I ask Ashton. He replies with "Anyone but Hayden. He's best friends with Daniel. It's too risky." I nod my head and say to Ashton "I'll tell Louis, AJ, and Tenn we're leaving. You tell the others. We meet back here in an hour." Ashton gives me an odd look, and asks "How do I know it's been an hour?" I slightly smile and say "Go with your gut. I'll find you otherwise." He gives me a thumb up, as I take off up the stairs.
I find the room Louis found for us to sleep in. He lays in the bed, as he softly drifts to sleep. I walk over to him, and lightly nudge him. "Oh hey, beautiful. Are you going to sleep next to me?" Louis says in an exhausted voice. I laugh then say to him, "Wish we had the time. We have to leave this place tonight." Louis looks at me then rolls his eyes. "Can't we just sleep? I'm tired as fuck." I answer back with "We'll have time to sleep some other time. We just need to escape." Louis drags himself out of bed, then says "Why do we need to leave tonight? I thought we were gonna stay here for a while." I reply with "Daniel is apparently apart of the raiders, from what I understood. He's threatened to kill Ashton and the others." Louis looks at the ground, then at me. I see the anger in his eyes. "Can't we get a fucking break? I'm sick of always running into problems." I frown at him, then say "So am I, Louis."
He sits on the bed once again, attempting to cool down. Then I remember something. "Remember when the both of us, said we wanted to find an actual home in Florida?" He pauses to think about what I said. "Oh yeah, now I remember. What happened to that idea?" He questions. "The idea was probably lost when the group set off into a panic. Maybe we should follow through this time, with actually going there." I say to him. He shrugs his shoulders and says, "It's not like we have anything to lose."
A petit smile slides up my face, as we come to an agreement to where we go next. "Can you wake up AJ and Tenn? I'm going to check in with Ashton to see how things are going with him," I say to Louis. "Sure, just be careful of Daniel. I don't want him hurting you," Louis says to me. A big grin spreads across my face, large enough to reach my cheeks. "I'm so lucky to have someone like you in my life," I say loud enough for Louis to hear. He smiles, which gives me a boost of confidence.
I find Ashton downstairs in the living room, talking with Jocelyn and Ryan. "Are we all ready to go?" Ashton asks me in an anxious voice. "Not yet. Louis is waking up AJ and Tenn as we speak," I say to him. Ryan looks at me and decides to ask "Don't take offence to this but, are Tenn and AJ your kids?" A shot of annoyance overcomes me. "No, they're not my kids. I wish people would stop asking." She looks shocked, then quickly says "Sorry, I didn't know. Please forgive me." I feel a bit guilty, and decide to say "Whatever it's fi-" but quickly get cut off by loud footsteps pressing down against the wooden stairs.
Hayden turns around the corner, as my stomach feels like it was just punched. "What the fuck is going on?" He demands in anger. He notices the bags of food placed on the table. He holds a gun in his left hand, as he raises it to me. "You did this! Didn't you?" He says in frustration to me. "Put the gun down, Hayden. We're fucking leaving this place!" Ashton says in my defence. He quickly redirects his gun at Ashton, as everyone feels uneasy.
Ryan rapidly runs at Hayden, as she attempts to take to gun off him. They fight for the gun, as a bullet goes off. Ryan falls to the ground, as blood pours out of her head. Her eyes lay open, as the rest of her body lays dead. "Oh my fucking god, Hayden!" Jocelyn says in horror. Ashton stands in fear, like a deer in headlights. Louis runs down the stairs, holding AJ and Tenn's hands. "What the fuck happened?" Louis says to everyone. Hayden quickly grabs Louis and puts the gun to his head. I feel my whole world flip around in fear, worrying if he'd pull that trigger. The same feeling when AJ had a gun to his head. "Don't you fucking dare!" I say to Hayden. Hayden replies with "Or what? It'd fun blowing his head off." I see Louis start to squirm, and become antsy.
AJ and Tenn stand in fright, hoping Louis wouldn't be killed. Jocelyn and Ashton stand to the side, being completely useless. I search for my gun in my pocket and whip it out in my right hand. Hayden takes the gun off of Louis, then points it at me. I pull the trigger and put a bullet in Hayden's neck. Before he falls to the ground, he shoots his gun at my rib. I fall to the ground, as I hit my head. AJ and Louis rush to my aid, as everyone else sets off into a panic. Blood pours out of me, as I start to feel tired. I close my eyes, as I lightly smile. As long as Louis and AJ are safe, I'll be fine.
(Hopefully, you liked that chapter! I found it really fun to write, as I hope the next couple chapters will be as well. This chapter was a more full of action. I plan to make the next chapter more romantic and stuff. Anyway, stay tuned!:)
