I feel someone give me a rough nudge, to wake me up. I look to my right and see a man holding a gun in his left hand. "Get up. You need to do a shit ton of work today." I look at him, then hop out of bed. I stretch my arms and legs, then look around. I see no one else that I know, in the area. "Where's everyone else?" I ask. "They've already started their work. Even the little ones have done more work than you, lazy ass." I look at him and feel the urge to talk back. I hold my horses, as he gives me instructions on what to do next.
"Your first job is to carry those twenty boxes over to the main hall. While you're at it, sweep the main hall's floors." I make my way towards the main hall, as he quickly stops me, by yelling. "You have much more work to do after that! You have to board up the windows upstairs. Maybe after that, you can help out with dinner." He signals me off, to let me start my chores. Our group needs to make an escape out of here. We can't stay here and be their slaves. It isn't safe for AJ. It isn't safe for any of us.
As I finish carrying the twenty boxes over to the main hall, I think of an idea of how to escape. First, we would need a place to meet up. Right after we all get separated. I could talk to the group about a good spot. They might have an idea. Second thing is, I need to talk to the group about my plan. I need to make sure everyone's on the same boat. If we wait too long after night falls to sneak out, they might already have patrol outside. Everyone usually goes to bed right before the sun sets. I figure I can try and talk to someone from the group, and hope they spread the word that we're leaving tonight.
I finish sweeping the floors of the halls and practically drag myself up the stairs. As I'm halfway up the stairs, I see Louis at the top of the steps. Just my luck.
I race up the stairs and say his name with joy. I tightly wrap my arms around him, as he smiles with elation. "Louis, we have to leave this place tonight. We can't stay here. They could start torturing us, for all we know." He agrees with the words I say. "I'll tell the group we're leaving this place tonight. We'll talk later, towards bedtime. Be careful, Clem. They're always watching." He kisses my cheek, as he then quickly takes off. I realize I should probably do my work as well. Like Louis said, "They're always watching."
I finish doing my work, which took ages. The men who run this hellish place asked me to cut up the meat, and cook it for them. One of them threatened to punch me if I didn't cook the meat up to their expectations. Our group does n't even get the food. Those idiots just eat it all. All we get is a bit of soup. Hardly enough to live off of.
The daytime passes by, in a blink of an eye. As I walk back to our group, I notice Violet and Tenn with two other people. As I get closer, I have this lucky feeling it's Sophie and Minerva. The first person I see is Aasim. I ask him "Is that Sophie and Minerva?" In a shocked voice. He responds back with "Yeah. Violet found them cleaning the greenhouse together. She's still in shock. Hell, everyone is." I feel like it would be right of me to introduce myself to Sophie and Minerva. Then again, I think Violet and Tenn deserve some alone with time with them. "On another note, we need to escape this place tonight. They're going to kill us sooner or later." I say to Aasim. "Well, what's the plan?" Aasim questions. "First, we need a place to meet up. We can't just run around the place, searching for everyone." Aasim agrees with what I say, and states "I think there's a tore down restaurant north of the building. We can meet up there, and hope for the best." I say "Sure sounds good." Aasim then asks "So how exactly are we supposed to escape this place?" I answer back with "First we'll need to get our weapons. I saw my knife and backpack in a cabaret while sweeping up the room. Everyone else's weapons are probably in there." Aasim asks "Are you for sure? We can't screw around. One wrong move and we're all dead."
I respond back with "I'm sure about this. After that, we sneak out. If we get caught, we attack them." I let out a sigh, worrying if my plan won't go the way it will. Peoples lives are in my hands. "I'll tell the others our plan. They're sending us to bed soon, so we need to act quick." Aasim walks over to a couple of groups, explaining our scheme.
I walk over to AJ, telling him what's about to happen. "AJ, we're going to espace this place tonight. In less than fifteen minutes, we're going to sneak into the main hall, to get our weapons." AJ looks at me with worry. "We're going to make it out of here alive, right?" I give him a look of concern. "All we can do is try."
We get sent off to bed, and seconds later the group huddles around in a circle. "We need to be sneaky. We can't get caught." I say in all seriousness. "We plan on meeting up at the abandoned restaurant, North of here. Good luck everyone." Aasim says. Louis makes his way towards me. "So I get Charies back tonight, right?" He says in an excited voice. "Well if we sneak in there alive," I say with a tiny grin. I see his cute little smile afterwards.
We make our way to the main hall. We check our shoulders and happily see no one. Louis wraps his hand around mine, as we prepare ourselves for what's about to happen.
I'm just glad the person I love is right beside me, no matter what happens next.(Hopefully, you enjoyed that chapter! I know it wasn't that interesting but, I was really sick the past couple days. Anyway, that won't stop me from writing the story! Next chapter will probably be the most "action-packed" one. Hopefully, you'll stay tuned :)
