I hear the sound of aggressive knocking, on the entrance's door of the house. I jump out of the bed in concern. I see Louis look at me, with sleepy eyes. I say "I'm going to go check who's knocking. Get up, and check on the others." He nods his head, as he starts to roll out of bed. I practically sprint down the stairs, as I wonder how someone could've found this place. I make it to the door, as I feel a knot in my stomach. I slowly open the door and see unfamiliar people standing on the porch. I see five men. Two men holding machine pistols, and the other three holding ordinary guns. "Do you have a group here?" One of them asks. "What's it to you?" I ask in a ticked off voice. I hear Aasim darts down the stairs, as he then quickly joins the conversation. "I'll take that as a yes then." The man says. I roll my eyes in frustration. Another guy holding a machine piolet says "You might want to work with us, girly. We can shoot you in a second if you do not cooperate." I feel a knot in my stomach starts to become much tighter. "What do you want from us?" Aasim asks. "We want you to work for us. We need more people to help us out." I remember when Carver forced our group into practical slavery. I hope it won't be the same thing. "Do you mean we're going to be your salves?" I ask in a worried voice. "If you want to be realistic, yeah basically." My heart stops as I hear those words. I feel all the horrid memories come flooding back. "Why us? We're just kids!" Aasim asks in terror. "The younger, the more work we get out of you." I look at Aasim in worry. "How many are there of you?" The man with the pistol gun asks. "Eight in total," I reply. I feel my hands start to sweat and shake. "We won't let you take us!" Aasim says in a stern voice. I look back at him and say under my breath, "Shut the fuck up. Don't make them even more pissed off!" I see one of the men give me and Aasim a dirty look. "What did you say, little fancy boy?" I see Aasim's eyes widen, as he regrets what he says. The man with the pistol gun hits Aasim over the head his gun. Aasim falls to the ground, leading up to him being unconscious. I look at them take Aasim away to their truck, as I try not to panic. "Guys! They're trying to ta-" I immediately feel a pain on my head, as I try and warn the group. I fall to the ground, trying to stay conscious. My vision starts to become very dark. I feel the urge to stay awake, but decide it's better if I l close my eyes.
The next thing I know, I'm awake in a different room. My heads throbbing, as I grab it. I feel my heart drop to my stomach, as I start to remember what happened. I need to make sure everyone is alright. I need to make sure AJ and Louis are alright. I get up and start to shake the knob of the door. No luck of course. I try and calm down, but end up pasting around the room. I notice the shattered window in my room. If anything was that serious, I guess I could jump out the window. Hopefully, nothing comes to that. The boards of the room seem extremely creaky. You can hardly take a step, without excepting some sort of noise.
Suddenly, I hear someone walk towards the doorway. They put in some sort of key, and unlock the door. They push it open, to where I see who they are. A man in their late forty's, with a thick black beard. Their eyes are an Emerald green. He wears a thick coat, with a gun in his pocket. "You ready for work?" He asks in a low raspy voice. "I need to see Louis and AJ first. Please, just let me talk to them." I ask in a distressed voice. "We need you to work on the greenhouse first. Then we'll consider letting you talk to them." I let out a sigh, as I make my way outside. The guy takes me to where I need to be. "For the record, that's not your room. That room is just for people who are injured and shit. You'll be sleeping outside, with the rest of everyone." I shake my head, as an understatement. "I knew that room was too good to be true," I say to myself.
We make our way to the greenhouse. "First thing you need to do is harvest the cabbage, then the peas. After that, take the basket to one of us. We all wear similar coats, so it'll be easy to tell we're the leaders. You're getting off easy today. Tomorrow is going to be fucking hell." He quickly takes off, as if he's in a rush. I let a sigh and feel the urge to cry. I wish Louis could hug me, and tell me everything will be alright. It feels like I fucked the group over. I remember being stuck in a similar situation to this, with Sara. Every time she had a panic attack, caused she caused so much stress for the group.
I harvest the vegetables I'm supposed to, and take the bucket over to the guy I saw earlier. "Thanks. Now you can go chat with your friends. It's almost time for bed anyway. Get to sleep. You'll fucking need it." I feel like the day went by too fast. One minute I'm sleeping with Louis, next second I'm trapped in a living hell. I take off in the direction I'm told to go in and see the group. I see Louis talking with AJ, as I then call Louis' name. Louis looks in my direction and notices me. I see how happy he is to see me. AJ as well. I run right into Louis' arms, wishing I could never let go. I look at him, then kiss him on his soft lips. I didn't care if everyone was judging us. Louis means the world to me. I'm just so grateful Louis and AJ are alright. I unlock from our kiss, and look at him with a smile. "I'm glad you're okay. They knocked you out cold." Says Louis. "Yeah, I know. Is everyone else alright?" I ask Louis. "I think so. Violet and Willy are still doing their work. They'll be done soon." Louis states. "I feel like this is all my fault. The fact we ended up in this shit show." Louis looks at me with shock, clearly expressing it wasn't my fault. He gives me a big warm hug and says, "It wasn't your fault. No one could handle those mean assholes." I smirk at him, as we're loudly interrupted. "Listen fuckers, it's bedtime. You all better be in bed in the next fifteen minutes." I let go of our hug, making sure the man doesn't yell at us. "Where's Willy and Violet?" Omar asks. The man turns back around, to answer Omar's question. "They'll be here soon. That's none of your concern anyway." He gives Omar a dirty look and takes off once again. "You heard the man, better get some shut eye." Aasim states. I start to get a little ticked off as if Aasim thinks he's the leader. I walk over to AJ and say "Are you okay, AJ?" He looks at me and answers back with "Not really. I'm just glad you're back. I feel a lot safer." A small smile goes across my face, as I give AJ a hug. "We'll talk more tomorrow. I don't want you getting in trouble." I say to AJ. He agrees with what I say, as we head to our separate beds.
Everyone has pretty much settled in for the night. I continue to toss and turn, and worry about how this will all go down. I plan on makingan escape out of this place. I just hope we don't lose anyone in our group. I couldn't live with myself if I lost Louis and AJ. .
